It's funny this thread just came up.  I'm quitting my night shift job.  Even though the pay is good and I like the job I've come to the conclusion that night shift is incompatible with either getting or keeping women.

I like it more when there are more people around and I have a more social enviorment

This was a big clue.  Sit down and make a list of things that you can do during the day but can't during the night.  It's pretty long huh?  And many of them involve interacting with people to some degree.

I've heard consistantly that people never actually fully adjust to night shift work, they always end up sleeping on their days (nights) off.  They get further jerked around when they take vacations and spend time with family or friends during the daytime.  So I think that all that constant being yanked back and forth really dulls your mental edge and ends up diminishing any joy you get from your usual activities.

As far as the sunlight thing goes humans definitely need at least a little bit of real radiation. As long as you get some every once in a while it should be okay.

As other people have said everybody is different and some people can adapt to graveyard shift more easily than others.  I'm not one of the survivors and I suspect you're not either.
