Fan Made Creature

Hi everyone,
First thing, this is a fan made creature topic, so as the title suggests, it is not official and you may want to create your own just for fun
Why not Faction Fan made? because Faction, aside the complexity also the fact that we barely know about anything related to faction, e.g: Unique building, racial skill, magic system just to name a few.
So it is only for fun guys, don't take it too seriously.

Faction: Necropolis (I know we already knew basically all the creatures, this is just fan-made anyway, it is just for fun )
Name: Dullahan --> Phantom Knight
Ability: Death Blow (I love the way they did back on H3)
Tier: Elite
Appearance (I can' draw, sorry but I will brief the description)
Dullahan will be more like an empty armor without head. In the armor's joint you will see ectoplasm-style human body. It will ride a horse but this is not your everyday undead-skeleton horse. This is a horse that looks like formed by a solidify mist with bright eye (without armor on horse please). On the headless armor of the rider, you can also see a similar mist-like head with bright green eye and a careful look will reveal a barely form of skeleton head with a sinister smile on it. Of course, it also have a scimitar as weapon, the one similar on the Dread Knight of H3 but with skeleton crafting on the sword's handle.
Phantom Knight is a bit more armored. The misty head is still there but now wearing a circlet in a form of spider. The Horse is still without armor but rather than soft-mist it is now have a fiery feels on it. I imagine the armor will have a tainted cape in the this upgrade version and of course the scimitar now will be a little longer compares to the non-upgrade version.
Btw, all the armors are on black.

There my first fan-made creature. Just do it for fun, I feel like waiting to November took forever, and discussing a month-late news is a bit weary now. So took your time, remember, this is only for fun.

Wish you could draw it. Sounds interesting. H5 does have the Neutral Death Knight with a 'critical strike'? or something like that. But it's not in a castle of course. I would prefer the Death Knights over the Wraiths etc. but that's a preference debate again. In H3, I always hated to hear that 'double-damage' sound right before the strike on my Champions. Now if I had them?

Your description brings to mind the headless-horseman out of Sleepy Hollow, but he's not headless now, he has a green-vapor head with a spider crown

Take care, Markkur

Well back when we still had seven tiers I was thinking about a group of creatures I was going to call Animentals, which were basically elementals in the shape of a particular animal. It took a while, but what I ended up with was:

Air Animental - Eagle - Elemental Large Creature, Large, Fly, Immune to Slow, Immune to Air, Magic Proof 25%, Strike and Return (selectable).

Fire Animental - Lion - Elemental, Large Creature, Fire Breath, Fire Shield, Immune to Fire, Ice Vulnerability 50%, Magic Proof 25%.

Earth Animental - Bear - Elemental, Large Creature, Bash, Immune to Earth, Armoured, Immune to Weakness, Immune to Slow, Magic Proof 50%.

Water Animental - Snake - Elemetal, Large Creature, Hexing Attack, Fire Vulnerability 50%, Immune to Water, Magic Proof 50%, Regeneration.

so will a fire elemental next to a water elemental be vulnerable to fire again?

Elite Necromancer Creature:  Will-O-The-Wisp

Similar to the oldschool magic card:  http://www.coolstuffinc.com/images/Products/mtg%20art/Revised/Will-O%27-The-Wisp.jpg

This would be a creature that is rather weak in HP and Attack/Defense, but very tactically useful.

Abilities:

1)  Conceal:  Before Combat begins, the Will-O-The-Wisp can select 1 ally.  If this ally is attacked, all damage is re-directed to the Wisps.  (This effect is not triggered for retaliation damage).

2)  Power of Darkness:  When fighting at night the Wisps gain +50% HP

3)  Swarm:  Any "Large" creature the Wisps attack are instantly lost within the swarming bright lights, and their next movement is reduced by 50%.

4)  Re-light:  Will-O-The-Wisps can be re-animated at a rate 50% greater than other Elite creatures.

One of the things I liked about Kings Bounty creatures were that they had activated abilities, and some of the creatures acted almost exclusively as support for other creatures.  This gave great synergy to an army and made the concept of support very powerful.  Right now Homm is too reliant upon big creatures with big teeth/swords, etc.

Creating something heroes-concerning jsut for fun?  I'm not far

Matt's Elemental idea just gave me another one (quite different, but still^^):

There could be Elementalist-Mages, neutral Mage-creatures, each aligned to an element, and with element-related strength, weaknesses, spells and abilities.

Air Mage: Strong Speed/Ini, Weak Defense & HP; Casts Haste & Lightning; Ranged Attack can Stun hit creatures

Earth Mage: Strong Defense&HP, Very Week Speed; Casts Slow, Stone Spikes&Earthquake; Ranged Attack has a small chance of petrifying enemies;

Water MAge: Strong Hitpoints & Mana, Weak Damage; Casts Ice Bolt&Ice Ring; Ranged Attack has a small chance of Freezing enemies.

Fire Mage: Strong Attac&DAmage, Weak Defense; Casts Fireball&Firewall, Ranged Attack can Incinerate enemy creatures, dealing continuous damage to them (well, they're burning then XD)

And one thing never into an official HoMMgame (or so I know and have in mind^^): A chariot. Could be for any faction, practically, the drawing beasts would differ highly then, as well as design. Would probably have a clash-in-ability and a very weak defense.

they have actually, Griffin's battle dive for example but I really hope to see more of them in the new series.

A bit offtopic maybe, biut if you're interesteds in creature abilities, you might find this interesting, it's a list for the there linked ability creation thread, were community members gave their invented unit abilities. There are quite some activated abilities among them, too.

Neutral Building - Mercenaries

MattII and Jiriki9 give me an inspiration to me. It called Mercenaries, so the neutral building of this mercenaries is actually a mini castle. It is a control point as well aside the existing ones (normal faction castle: Haven, Necropolis etc). It may or may not contain a building tree to build but, either way it has indeed its own unique dwellings depends on the "themes".

So here is the rules of Mercenaries creature:
1. Mercenaries creatures are not affected by moral, it always had normal moral by default. By lore, Mercenaries don't care any moral, they will do any dirty work as long as they are well-paid.
2. Faction-based creatures will affected its moral similar to creature mixing in the army
3. There will be a skill to tolerate moral only on mercenaries creatures.
4. There is no Hero specific to the Mercenaries.

Purpose:
1. Can be a good method to provide army for "secondary" hero.
2. Give variety on the units and might be a good gameplay addition.

For example MattII's creatures the elementals, we may called the building Beast Conflux with this specification:
Elemental Conflux (All semi-elite creatures)
1. Air Animental
2. Fire Animental
3. Earth Animental
4. Water Animental

Or other example, Jiriki9's creatures: the mages. Well if we are gonna have Mages of Wizard faction maybe we want to call them Mancer. So let's say the building name: Mancer's Guild:
1. Pyromancer
2. Stormancer
3. Gaiamancer
4. Aquamancer
with all-elite units
etc

Or my own creation.
The Forsaken
Background:
Contains minion's of Sareth and those demons that are fosaken by Urgash.
Dwellers:

1. Minion
Tier: Core
Ability:
- Gating Warp (Activated Ability)
- Demonic Frenzy (Passive Ability: Whenever Minion do any action aside Defend and Normal Move, has 30% chance to give Moral like effect that enable them to get 1 more movement during the round (action triggered by Frenzy will not re-trigger the frenzy). Gating Warp is considered an action.
Background:
The true follower of Sareth, they were previously Assassins, Bandits and Rogues corrupted by the will of Urgash but regain their sanity and free will under Sareth.
Brief Appearance Description:
This humonoid red-skin has a lizard tail. They wear a pair of gauntlet, Leg protector made of Demonic Bones. Their weapon similar to Demon Hunter's weapon on Warcraft 3. They are skinny yet well-built (look at Bruce Lee). They have a shield-like forehead (similar to Klingon's ones but this one is red and has a pair of horn) with a demonic horn on the sides of their heads.

2. Demongre
Tier: Elite
Ability:
- Siege damage (Passive: Do high damage on walls and gates)
- Shield Breaker (Active: Do minimum damage but greatly disable Large Shield ability on enemy creature)
Background:
Demongre is Wizards first attempt to create shock troop. Considered to be a failure due to their Demonic domination. A mixing of ancient race of Ogre and demonic creation method that give birth to orcs, Ogre is the first of the creation. Banished by their own creator, Demongre found a place they can call home in Forsaken Ground.
Brief Appearance Description:
Fat, 2 Headed with large tusk on both heads. This large creature hold a spiky club as their weapon and a large cleaver on the other hand. Each head contains 1 Spiky horn. Short legged btw, and hairy on that part.

3. Hell Guardian
Tier: Champion
Ability:
- Azazel's Fury (Active: Release a beam-like attack that damage all in a line damaging ally and foe alike. The damage 5x the stack normal damage). 5 Turns Cooling Down. 3 Turn Cooling down at the initial beginning of combat (you can only use this after the 3rd turn).
- Unlimited Retaliation.
Background:
Sareth's personal Elite Guard, given birth by Urgash 1st Children Azazel himself, this elite creature can only be summoned by using the 7 Orb Relic that is the heritage of Azazel's weapon, symbolizing the 7 sins. Sareth's steal the artifact and unleashed the creatures to walk the land of ashan. With Sareth unique gift, the creature is released of Urgash bound and gain its own free will. They are now a loyal servant to the forsaken until Sareth re-summon them to serve once more.
Brief Appearance Description:
Hell Guardians are humble image of Azazel. They have a pair of large bat wing. They appearance is a very tall human with wing. Their clothing similar to those of Arch Devil in Heroes 3. They wear a large beads necklace. There are 7 large beds forming the necklaces symbolizing Azazel's main weapon the 7 Orbs. When using Azazel's Fury the beads will rotate around Guardian's hand and release the beam strike. Their face has this sinister look and a sharp beard. With a pair of long horn on its head. O btw, they are bald and muscular as well with sharp teeth.

The Forsaken Neutral castle only contains 3 Dwellings, the dwellings tier and variation may differ depends on the "theme", but it will offer something refresh IMHO. Hope you like it.

Though afte rH% it won't happen, I'd like a non-orcish or demonic Centaurs.

Following your Mercenaries idea now (whcih, by the way, in variation pops out quite some times here or there in the altar) I see as a mercenarian castle:

The Free Centaur Tribes

Their building is a Camp, their units are:

1. Centaur Hunter
Tier: Core
Abilities: Large, Shooter, No Melee Penalty;
The common Centaur Hunters are efficient both in melee and in ranged combat. Their fur is typically light brown, and their skin like that of Native Americans.

2. Centaur Plunderer
Tier: Core
Abilities: Large, Strike and Return, No Enemy Retaliation;
Centaur Plunderers wield sharp scimitars and are slightly more armoured than Hunters. They are used to striking abruptly, and running off again.
plunderers are usually of a darker Fur color than Hunters, still brown, but of a lighter skin color.

3. Centaur Sage
Tier: Elite
Abilities: Large, Caster[Benifical Spells], Herb Lore;
Centaur Sages are a wise folk, and good Healers, if hey have Herbs. They are highly respected among the Centaurs.
The Sages' fur is white, their skin in the color of orientalian humans. They usually have a silvery beard.
