Hmm... so 1.6 is out of beta... guess I'll have to compatibility check my stuff before I update.

Oh and Zenimax copyrighted the title "Hearthfire", which is a month in the Elder Scrolls universe. Upcoming DLC perhaps?

EDIT:

Pretty cool idea

EDIT2:

Mr Elder Dragon... please go away...

Installing Skyrim slavery mod, and a few home mods too.

Edit: So yes I was testing out horse combat, when I find a random encounter (the noble one ) so I shot a beautifully placed arrow that hits him straight in the heart. I was so impressed I had to prnt screen it ()

Alright Modding with Adrius episode 973 a.k.a. "my friends didn't feel like drinking tonight".

This time I'll cover a few mods that are hidden gems, most not topping charts or making it into mod videos but still very nice.

So get in the cockpit and strap the **** in cuz we're going on a ride in modification-land.

Combine Potions
Argh I got like a million of these minor restore health potions... oh wait now I can combine them at a cooking still into higher magnitude versions? And it works with Better Sorting? Yayifications. Less cluttered inventory = Good.

Dragon Soul Absorb - More Glorious
Remember the old Skyrim trailer where the Dovah-Dude killed the dragon and the soul-absorption scene was all EPIC? Yeah... with a few simple sound modifications this mod turns every killed dragon into a wondrous moment of adrenaline, peacefulness and sorrow over killing such a majestic creature. It's really quite amazing and there are 4 versions to choose from.

26 Moon Size Tweaks
I use 1.5x sized moons myself... gives Skyrim's sky a bit more of a fantasy feel.

No More Galaxy
To complement the above, I'm sure you've seen the amazing galaxy texture replacements for the night-skies, but what if you would just... remove it? This mod gives the stars a lot more space to stand out, and gives the nights a bit of a colder feel. I really like it myself because it makes the northern lights really stand out when they arrive.

Vibrant Auroras
Beautiful northern lights...!

No Spinning Death Animation
Every time you kill a humanoid in this game they do a falling down animation, that sucks. With this, a lethal club to the forehead means instant ragdoll... send your enemies flying instead!

NoMaaM Breathing Idles
Now you're less like a mannequin when standing still... add a bit of movement, breathe in... breathe out.

Open-Faced Guard Helmets
Less Stormtrooper guards.

Shrine of Azura LOD fix
This one you HAVE to install! The Azura Statue is FRICKING HUGE yet it doesn't have a distance lod file... with this mod you can see that thing from across Skyrim.

Variety Enchant Effect
Enchanted weapons have really boring glow in vanilla Skyrim, try out Energized version in this mod, looks really rad.

You made quite a nice list of mods that i will most likely try out however this one kind of dazzles me.

"Dragon Soul Absorb - More Glorious
Remember the old Skyrim trailer where the Dovah-Dude killed the dragon and the soul-absorption scene was all EPIC? Yeah"

Why would you want to make it epic to kill flying cockroaches.?

How does the ragdoll combine with other kill move mods?

It only affects non-killmove kills, so it's safe to use with killmove mods.

Dawnguard is looking good imo.

I like the new undead summoning spells, and the "heal undead" spells... supporting your undead minions as a vampiric necromancer sounds very fun.

Feeding on people after calming them is a very nice addition as well.

Will buy when it arrives, might wait a while and see how many mods it breaks though ^^

Downloaded a stand-alone witcher's sword, and ultimate witcher experience.

Plus a crapload of addons to the mod, including companions.

Edit: Any good mods (spent a good deal of time searching already) that make day and night cycles more 'realistic'? (after playing fit the witcher 2's one I need to have it 'improved')

Found a hardcore mode mod that increases day cycles to 4 real hours.

Also OMG I can't believe I even started the game without this.

Downloaded 3 hardcorish mods, one is 3d eating and such, the other is breaking foods down to protein/carbo stats, and the last is the Falloutish hardcore mode where you can drink from streams and being drunk has disorientating effects.

Edit: So I was crossing Dragon's bridge when I was ambushed by a roving army of imperials, I made short work of them, but I couldn't resist trying on their armours

Light gear:

Northern front:

Edit: I'm changing my hair to the dwarven braid one, that is as soon as I find the damn barber . Also the boots and gloves are part of my ranger set, I couldn't bring myself to part with them.

Edit: I downloaded a mod called 'camping' make your own campfires and pitch tents <3. (this mod also comes with the ability to chop wood from any tree)

Edit:

While I was leaving solitude I came upon this epic fight to the death:

Further down the road:

And a little while ago when I was testing out the witcher mod :

Edit: Downloaded deadly dragons and slayable children (mostly since I expect children to be the last ones to survive a ****ing dragon or bandit attack )

It seems that I'm again in need of a mod that makes day/night cycles more realistic.

Edit: I'm heaving great fun with the console commands, I'm recruiting every vagabond I come across and slap 'em into shape by sending them against the falmer. (I downloaded a mod that increases my follower capacity to 100)

But I messed it up initially and now my original follower won't do anything I tell her to .

Edit: I'm doing the grey warden/black knights(?) that I'm recruiting law breakers and exceptionally skilled individuals to combat the falmer.

Edit: I made a new start as Geralt of Rivia and with the mod 'A new life' I can choose where to begin my journey, stuck a little between the companions and the vigilant of stendarr, chose the companions in the end because OVERALL they better fit what witchers do.

Edit: I found two juicy mods to spice things up, one's Darwin's Nightmare, and the other Real wildlife. Had to deactivate the Civil war mod, worked fine in most areas, but causing a real pain and constant crashes in the west of Whiterun battlefield.

EDIT I downloaded a unique one handed and two handed variant of the Witcher silver swords, the great thing is the two handed version uses one handed killcam animations, I love it, though I fear that I need to get savage strike (one handed decap perk) in order to decapitate people. LINK

The fact that you can get 1-handed killcams with a 2-hander is likely due to The Dance of Death which enables those to give 2-handers more variety. It's not cuz of the Witcher sword mod.

That silver sword is the best made weapon on the Nexus imo but sadly the fact that it's a Witcher sword breaks the immersion of being in the Elder Scrolls universe for me. I only use lore-friendly mods.

That's odd, I been using 2h weapons since the beggining and I never had these kill cams, now I'm getting them all the time (still clearing out Dustman's cairn)

Seeing how I'm practically bathing in undead and necros I figured a weapon that looks great and gives me an edge would be useful. That said I'm going to go search for some warewolf mods. Just to double check, werewolves are affected by the damage to undead, right>?

It may be a tag in the Creation Kit for the weapon or something, I used to get those all the time with a ranger sword from Ismirel's LOTR collection as well.

Still, TDoD definitely unlocked more of them for me.

In my search for extra werewolf npcs I came upon this, it's perfect for my 'witcher'/monster hunter profession character, but seems a little 'dark',

Yeh when I say dark I mean things like this:

Well I decided to try out the ENB series of graphical enhancers. Here's a screenie I took.

Looks pretty rad but impractical for anything besides taking screenshots.

EDIT:

BUT THIS ONE I LIKE!

WOW! The "real" version is just... WOW! And no performance loss either!

Try it out Ivor, jesus christ. I will never play without this.

Yeah I've disliked ENBs heavily because they generally oversaturate and bloom the picture 'til your eyes and computer bleeds.

This one has a nice balance, just disable the letterboxing.

EDIT:

Also get rid of any "darker dungeons" mods you have running if you decide to try it, it has its own version included.

I tried using it with URWL but the lighting got a bit off imo, it's better to disable any realistic lighting mods you have and just run the ENB alone.

Imo of course, the looks are entirely subjective. I tend to like dark and gritty looks, with this ENB the game looks quite similar to The Witcher 2's palette.

Here is a nice trick instead of using ENB. Use your graphics driver control panel to manually change the saturation. Nvidia, which I have, has digital vibrance instead of saturation. Saturating the colors trully change the experience in some games, such as Skyrim.

ENB also has other problems such as framerate drops.
