Fire Shield and immunity to spells

Creatures immune to all spells (or all spells level 1-4) are still damaged by the Efreet Sultans' shield. Creatures immune specifically to Fire spells are not. Is this a bug, or what?

BTW, I'm running 3.0. The 3.2 patch crashes SoD for me, so I'm just keeping 3.0.

Yeah... I asked myself about that too... Probably just a bug or you can't really avoid it!

I am pretty sure in 3.2 golds blacks firebirds and phoenixs and Magic elementals immune to the fire shield all others are not.

Why is it then that Efreets are immune to armageddon?

I've noticed that one too ShadowLord. It's really annoying - they should have immunity to the spread of Magogs' attacks (but not if they're directly attacked, much like undead attacked by Liches - they can get hit, but only if they're directly targeted).

I think that it has something to do with being a special ability rather than a spell.  The Magog thing is more surprising to me though, as creatures imune to fire are not hurt by the efreet sultans fire shield, so why should they be hurt by Magogs fireball?

Has anyone checked fire elementals or Pheonix to see if they are harmed by Magog fireballs if not directly targeted?

Haven't checked, but if Efreet are hurt by it I would assume Phoenixes and Fire Elementals are too.

I reckon that Efreets are vulnerable to breath attacks too. After all they are immune only to Fire Spells not creature specialties.

Yeah but...

That is n interesting idea, like Efreets are immune to spells
and not whatever a creature fires at them, but nonetheless,Magogs shoot Fireballs, so that is a spell. The opposite goes for the Liches. They don't shoot spells, so the undead shouldn't be affected unless targeted directly.

Reason that creatures are not immune to fire sheild is because it is an effect not a spell..

Same way as a unit immune to water spells getting hit by a prayered stack of angels gets full damage from angels and prayer benefits.

Therefore I am sure when you try to cast firesheild ON your blacks, golds, efreets, magic eles, Phoenixs, ect it will not work.. but as the sheild damage is merely the fire spell cast on another creature the damage hits creatures which are immune to fire as well.
