Might and magic: Clash of Heroes HD apreciation thread

I picked it up a day or two ago, and i am having tremendous amounts of fun with it.

To any who are still skeptical, do not be deceived by its childish looking units, it has a wonderful amount of depth behind it. I haven't had this much fun with an M&M game since Homm3. If you have an xbox or PS3 get the trial version at LEAST. Its a game worthy of your time, i promise you.

So, what are everyone elses thoughts on the game?

Same can be said for the DS version, awesome game.

Don't judge a book by its cover, read the first 30 pages or so to get an idea of the quality of the narrative given first =)

Sadly I keep seeing posts where people judge the game as "Anime s**t" before even considering trying it. (On my youtube video I mean)

awesome game, beat the final boss moments ago, loved almost every single battle I did.

My only complaint is the Academy section of the last chapter. (units barely deal damage, enemies have high hp, fights took AGES with both sides walling up.)

Focused mostly on certain unit/arti combos but enjoyed it a lot.
Actually liked the story, nothing special but fun and simple but likeable characters.

Both the DS version and the PS3 version (dunno bout the Xbox one but I assume it's the same) look great, graphics are charming, colourful and clear.

clocked over 30 hours of gameplay from the campaign alone (OCD side-quest completion) and for 15 euros with a fun multiplayer mode, even 2player offline-co-op or vs mode thrown in, very good buy!
(compared to a full priced 60euro game, it lasted longer and was more fun, mathematically that makes it 4 times the value for money, AT LEAST, before taking into account many modern games single player story takes 4 to 10 hours, so make that 16 times the value for money.)

MrDragon is a happy Dragon!

Edit:
My tactics!

My Sylvan line-up was:
bear, bear, pixie for core
Elites/Champions I used Deer, Unicorns and Dragons alternately from fight to fight.
Arti: Golden Roots/Doubling Cape.

Haven I used:
Swordsman, Swordsman, Archer
Elite/Champions I used Knights and Swordmasters.
Arti: Lion's Mane/King's Crown.

Necropolis I used:
Black Guard, Black Guard, Zombie
and then follow up with Deathknights and Ghosts.
Arti: Cursed Shield/Robe of the Spider (<- Robe is CRAZY good.)

Inferno was the most fun I'd say, loved Jezebeth, she was funny.
Demon, Demon, Hound
Succubus and Pit Fiend.
Arti: the succubus horn (forgot the name) and later the Ring of Celerity. (<-also CRAZY good)

Academy I didn't like so much.
Gremlin, Gremlin, Golem or Golem, Golem, Gremlin.
Mage and Titan.
Arti: Absorb Circlet
Did the final boss with 3x Golem and just Titans and a binding Charm.

I love how they took the Heroes 5 3D art and turned it into this 2D hand-drawn seudo-anime art in HD. It just looks great. Best looking 2D game in ages.

I love playing Haven at the moment because I like to try and charge through my friend with Knights. Multiplayer and campaign are equally awesome. The gameplay is intense once you know whats going on.

I use this line-up online right now:

Haven:
Core: Swordsmen, Spearmen, Archers
Elite: Knights
Champion: Swordmasters or Angels

I like to use charged knights as if they are walls. So basically, I wont build a wall in a lane that has a knight in it (vertically). And then after that I can put anything behind the knight and try to build walls if its necessary. Typically, Spearmen will do 9 damage to a hero if they make it past the enemy line as opposed to a Swordsmen doing around 4 damage. So having weaker Spearmen can provide better damage on their hero.

My friend likes to use this line-up:

Sylvan:
Core: Bears, Bears, Bears
Elite: Unicorn
Champion: Treant

The Treant is awesome because after its 6 charges and then its attack, it stays on the playing field until its killed and does a small amount of damage to the enemy hero. So if you have a used Treant on the field and your opponent doesn't kill it, then it will stay there and do 6 damage per turn to the enemy hero (damage amount depending on its health). So it's really intense that you have to focus the Treant.

This is my favorite PSN game right now for sure. Still playing the campaign.
