Damn you all!
You all only look at the stupid HP and AT power the creatures have in HOMM3. manticores were the most original and coolest creatures out there!
Gnolls dragonflies and rocs and other S H I T(why snow is bad?) are boring and I hope they burn in oblivion
The creatures worth returning.
Azure Dragon/Snow Dragon
Magog
Manticore
Wyvern
Basilisk
Lizardman
Evil Eyes(Or change that stupid pethetic Beholders without the cool small eyes)
Pit Lords
Lich
Black Knight
Pegasus
Dendroid/Dryad
Gremlin
Forgot the others.. They are boring PLAIN boring.
Replace the Gorgon with Viper Cat(A tiger with scales like the gorgon)

the manticore gaphics and animation was too stiff in homm3 imho, that's why i didn't like them. same about homm3 wolves/cerberi.
and i liked the gnolls, i wish they would have been better than useless, considering the early availability of wyverns in that town. on the other hand, they aren't really the creatures i would miss most, probably because of the reasons mentioned by you.

well, i guess i mostly liked creatures based on what they looked like, with the exception that i also liked creatures with interesting special effects. actually i am surprised how many of the creatures that i liked have made it to homm4, but i miss the depth of homm2 creature graphics.

But all creatures changed.
So why they wouldn't change the manticore aswel?
I love big cats. That's why it's so stupid that there isn't a lion creature! There are 100 kinds of lions in mythology and fantasy. 3DO didn't even use one of those.

yeah, one creature that has changed it's appearance towards the positive in the cerberus imho. maybe it's bit small and not enough scary, but it's progress is massive, if the manticore had been changed the same way and included, i would surely like it..

Should be a red lion. With a smart warlock face, and a tail with a ball with spikes on it(or a scorpion tail) and I liked the wings(he doesn't have them in the real legends but okay)
Other lions that could be insert would be
Sphinx/Liontaur/Chimera/Nemean lion

actually there was two lions in homm the manticore and the griffin...but the griffin in homm4 has only a tail of a lion the rest is of a bird (I might be wrong)...strange

3DO hates them! Everybody likes them! I sent them 1000 letters about putting the chimera in..But they didn't reply on those.
Chimera is very famous!
Age of mythology and warcraft3 both use one. I hope the expansion will have them!
however, the chimera is a female monsters. So it doesn't have the male lions manes. Also in every book/site the chimera looks different.
THe coolest chimera version is like this.
2 heads A goat and lioness, it's body is half reptilian half lionness and it's tail is a snake with an snakehead(So a living snake is forming the tail) And she has damaged ugly black bat wings. She must be able to breath fire.
