Absolute luck

I get that it has Hood prereqs, but I hear people calling it the best ulti. I mean, often you'll have 4-5 luck with expert luck, so all it really does is add around 5 luck. I mean, absolute protection always decreases luck of an enemy by 10.

Also, i heard destruction isn't that good for necs. Is it cause of the mage guild?

Who said that? Noobs these days.. As for ultimates, why bother? You can get better results with a custom build, much better.

Since when is Familiar Ground and Resourcefulness good perks? The skill preqs are quite ok (for example, compared to Aca or Fortress) but unless you are campaigning and maybe have a MM, forget ultimates.

Btw, IMO Arcane Omni or Absolute Unluck are better ultimates than Sylvan's one if you live that far. Which will you most probably not.

Even if I have Destro spells, I find that Destro doesn't really work well with Necro, maybe because they are a slow, defensive-minded faction who cannot support the hero with hard hitting troops like Dungeon.
Otherwise, Necro needs Summoning to preserve their weak troops and dark to weaken enemy and divert fire. And you would never pick 3 magic schools, wouldn't you?

It's actually the other way around.. Necro can afford to use destructive because they die much much slower than dungeon, it's just a matter of finding the right spells and arties. Also not to wait till lategame but that's a given.

problem with all ultimates is that you pretty much NEED atleast a lvl 30 hero for them to work properly. otherwise you will be too gimped skillwise. and let's be honest, how many times has anyone gotten lvl 30 hero in multiplayer games for example?

and even in the lvl 30 case, some factions are more gimped than others, like Inferno who cannot get any other dark spells in mass version except plague and vulnerability. that is pretty huge disadvantage against mass buffing factions despite their ultimate.

Ah right. I read the stuff in the thread that discussed the skill changes that ToE brought.

I know ultis aren't that good, just wondering really.

A third question. Even after patch 3.1, does soldier's luck still only affect a lame amount of abilities (bash, whip strike, warding arrow and like 2 more abilities and that's it)?

Mm hmm. It's mostly useful for inferno, dwarves and sylvan and utterly useless with academy. I suppose haven could make good use of it too if you count purge, zealots can also cleanse puppet.

If you do a customn build or focus to destructive magic, you will gain a powerful necro hero with destructive magic. And, all races can take good from destructive magic, but Dungeon is more powerful woth that. (For Lumpor)
