Getting Back to the Roots
Anyone else nearly shed a tear when they heard the remake of the HOMMII Grass Theme?
I've only begun playing the game. Are there any other elements of the original games for me to happen upon?

Well, it has several more remixed themes from the previous games. Campaign theme 9 (H3), Win Scenario (H3~) and Grass theme (H5) for example. There's also heroes who share name, similar appearance and back story with their counterparts from the older games like Lord Haart, Adelaide and Kaspar. It has few references too like artifact 'Crag Hack's Helmet'. That's all I can think of :F

YES SO THAT'S THE NAME OF THE THEME! I didn't notice it came from H2 at first but it dawned on me that music came from H2. I still couldn't pinpoint which one it was until I googled what you wrote [private thanks to Shyranis].
I could listen to it all day In fact, it's still in my head even tho I haven't played since 1st week release & I don't even care for music in games LOL.
Unfortunately some of the old heroes' equivalent got put in a class that was a bit perplexing...eg. Ciele

For me the grass theme fits perfectly in Heroes II where it belongs amongst the bright animation graphics but sounds artificial when imported in the manga cartoony world of Ashan. Frankly, the only theme that's imported from another game and fits nicely is the Inferno theme (now they only need to make the actual faction as dark and threatening as its music).

And yes, I was so excited at the Summer Plains theme when I first heard it, I went to search for its mp3 file. It's just so beautifully arranged. The snow and swamp themes are from H2 too I think. And so is the theme when you're browsing your Dynasty at the main menu.

Personaly, for me it was more the snow theme from MaM VI then the grass theme

Yeah, I think the snow theme is the most beautiful music in the game. I stop and listen to it at least once whenever I enter a snowy terrain. It has a nice melancholy.
