Battlefield 3, a real flop?
I am pretty sure most of you have heard of BF3,the awesome WTFROFLMAOBBQ CoD killer?
Well,I want to report my experience on the game and the many difficulties I am having in enjoying the game.Consider it a review if you like.
I wont speak about the Campaign though as I did not play it at all.I saw it on youtube and found it trash,it was too scripted.Yeah,BF fanboys always complained of COD being too scripted.I never got their answer on the BF3 failed campaign.To give you an idea,enemies spawned behind walls and you could see them spawn behind...
Now I mainly wanna discuss the multiplayer.If you dont know,there are 4 classes and each of the classes excels in one area.
Recon for sniping(nobody has a chance to kill you at range) and launching scout drones,support for c4 and MG,Engineer for (Everything) anti tank duties and Assault for anti infantry duties.
The sniper is so good at long range that it offers better suppression than the support dude. The only way to kill somebody who is a sniper is another sniper.
The support class is rarely used,except when C4 noobs try to be awesome.The MG is rather average when it comes to infantry vs infantry situations.
The engineer class,NOOB class, is used by 95% of the players. The weapons with that class can own everybody in close range and medium range,even somebody with an MG or Assault rifle... Carbines FTW.
The RPG is good vs infantry and vehicles and you can repair tanks with this class.This guy can even equip himself with a stinger.Not that it is useful,it is a good way to troll jets and helis.
Awesome,an all in one class.Not far ago,this class had UBER javelin action.It was able to own every vehicle.

it got nerfed now.
Assult class comes with the revive tools and heal packs.So its rather useless without a team.
The weapons you can unlock are hardly different from what yo uget in the beginning. The initial weapons are the best ones in the game,AK 74 and M16.
The other thing is that the damage in this game is crap. You need 15 bullets to spray in order to kill somebody.BF fanboys talk about COD having paintball guns....BF has those indeed.Shotguns are primary weapons are own everybody in close range and medium range(DAO12).
Now I will tell you about the most ridiculous part,vehicles.
Tanks are death traps. Engineers can own tanks in 3 different ways,choppers can own tanks in 3 different ways and Jets can own tanks in 2 different ways.
Here is how it goes.You take one tank,possibly with a team mate, and move into the field. Once you get rabbit jacked from two engineers,its all over. One pops and hides,the other does so aswell and you die.
The tank repair tool got nerfed so tanks are even more useless because even with two guys repairing your tank,you die.
The other situations are even more fun.A chopper can take you out from the other side of the map since rockets go in a straight path or simply get http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoNpS-C1QQQ
There is one more way you can die.A jet can lock on you or shoot rockets and you lose the tank and die.
Now lets analyze AA.Yes there is one AA in large maps that is useless vs jets and helis. The AA does not have a secondary gun,no team mate to follow you,has crappy armor and its gun does very little damage to jets or helis.Missiles are useless because of flares or ECW.
Yes,it dies faster from jets and helis than a tank.It is also useless vs infantry since it got nerfed.
Now choppers.Choppers have two ways to get away from missiles.The pilot is able to launch flares and the copilot is able to lauch flares aswell. Awesome,there is no chance in hell to take em down except of course if the pilot sucks.
Choppers have guided rockes(Homing on tanks) they aslo have AA rockets. The only way to take them down is per Javelin(Got nerfed) or Jet.
And finally,we have jets.
If you know how to fly jets,you own the entire game.A good jet pilot can take other jets at ease because he can turn faster,kill choppers and kill tanks.
The only way to take them out is luck or with another jet.Jets have no copilot so jet pilots are awesome awesome.Did I mention that jet pilots can own infantry aswell? Awesome.
Now as a poor dude,you just walk into the battlefield and then you die becuase once you get spotted,everybody sees you and its question of time when you die.Wait 15 seconds and see the face of the dude that killed you and repeat...
This is exactly the same thing that BF2 suffered from.Jets and choppers owning the game.
I wish I could give away my copy because it cant enjoy this crap anymore.
Now what are the good aspects of the game?
Well,the graphics are good,the sound is good(Gets annoying sometimes,but thats just me) and when you deal with noobs,its a good game since everything works against noobs.You can play the way you wish vs noobs.

I have not played BF, nor did I play any of the war-fps franchise (MoH, CoD, BF). However, BF3 is extremely popular and I've seen people buying new PCs just to be able to play it. I sometimes wonder why - I mean, there already was a ton of games like that. First the Medal of Honor series, than a million Call of Duty games, and now the Battlefield trilogy... honestly they are all the same to me

Its popular because its
A verhyped
B:You have vehicles there and jets.
C:Good graphics.
D:Modern Warfare.Abrams,T90 and that sort of crap.
F:It favors teamplay,except with jets.(Playing no jet maps is a solution)

You need proper teamwork for this game to be fun.
But why would you do that when Team Fortress 2 is all about that, not to mention 50 times less annoying.

This is the upside and the downside of the entire Battlefield franchise Imho.
Though I preferred the sniping mechanics in bad company, bullet drop, recoil and overall suppression of snipers in BF3 isn't up to scratch to be honest. In bad company you'd literally **** yourself (which I did) if a 50cal sniper shot right next to your head.
The recoil of the weapons is poor aswell (assuming you play it with a controller or a console) feels like I'm using a pea shooter (most of the weapons) instead of top of the line firearm (especially weapons with high recoil, since I'm not actually 'feeling' it)
And most disappointing factor of BF3 is destruction of buildings, I was under the impression that they modified it so that smaller and finer bits of wall crumble if it comes under fire. Instead they seemed to have removed the destruction of building blocks all together. (I know this isn't Bad Company 3, so don't get me wrong, but when they said theat they're using the Frosbite 2 engine while battlefield used FB 1, I thought it would be an improvement  )

I know exactly what you mean  , I was lying down with my perdy sniper, it was on a bipod in the middle of nowhere, and I was shooting peeps crawling around the objective when I heard this loud humming noise, shortly after my ass is blown to 'kingdom come'. Turns out the jets can hover and aim with deadly precision at motionless bushes
