Retro-Spective
Reading the ARCHON thread, I noticed that many people like 'old' games.
So what are your favourites Oldies but Goldies? Why did you like them? What are your 'high scores' / best achievements ?
Here we go...
SPY VERSUS SPY (C64)
White spy vs. black spy - Part I (II and III sucked). Find 5 parts in a big house and get to the airport. Dunno how often I played that one. I loved it simply because you could be cunning here 
Put acid at a door, bombs under shelves. One of my fav tactics was to lure the opponent into a room that was fully bombed, opponent carrying the 5 parts. When the 2 spies meet, he loses the parts (they disappear under a shelf). I leave the room, he searches the shelves.. and boom! I take the parts - and bye bye.. hehe
ARCHON (C64)
See the mentionned thread for details / pics. Always stay on bright / dark squares if you are good / evil. My favourite creatures were unicorn and manticore: Good damage, fast bullets, decent shooting frequency.
WINTER GAMES (C64)
Imo the best part of the Epyx xx Games series. I loved biathlon (World Record 1:31 min - beat dis  ), but Ski Jumping, Figure Skating and Speed Skating were great too.
IMPOSSIBLE MISSION I & II (C64)
Never managed to solve part I (Romana did it btw, dunno how  ). Part II was way better and I would have solved it, but since I got a pirate version, I couldn't enter one tower, lol. Played that one on an emulator but failed miserably again (damn joypad support).
DECATHLON (C64)
Rub your stick as fast as possible (I mean joystick you dirty ones! )
100m Dash, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 400 m (ouch!), 110m Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault (anyone over 5.8m?), Javellin and 1500m (muscles!)
Do this several times an afternoon with your friends and wonder why you spend all your pocket money for new joysticks, lol. Don't remember my high score, must be somewhere in the 12000s
KICK OFF 2 (Amiga)
Best soccer game ever imo. Lousy graphics, but unbelievable gameplay. The ball is hard to control, which gives you a good feeling if you manage to score a beautiful goal
JIMMY CONNORS TENNIS (SNES)
Best tennis game ever (imo again ). Serve and volley rules
More to come (given some feedback, lol)

Here are my classics:
Nes open golf (NES; Yes, i have made a few hole in ones)
NHL 93-99 (SEGA&SNES; Me and some friends had a few killer seasons on those games )
Rock N Roll Racing (SNES; "Tarquinn is dominating the race"  )
Goldeneye (N64; hehe i dunno how many times ive killed my friends on that game and they never know what hit them...)
Jimmy Connors Tennis (SNES; The best tennis game ive played)
Civilizations (Amiga 500; Man this game was the first computer game i got really addicted too, i still really like the civ. series, will prolly get Civ 3 soon )

EDIT: hehe i forgot the best football game, but since they are coming all the time i dunno if they are a classic. A football game i really like tho is Techmo Cup - a nes game which isnt like other football games but still very good.
I guess these are the more classic ones, there are still a few that deserves to be mentioned but they are "too new"

Me and my best mate at the time, the boy who lived next door, used to play it on rainy days (on sunny days, we used to RPG... pretend the garden was a mountain, that we were fighting dragons, or make 'magic brews' and try and get his big bro to drink them... )

Well in my country we got bootleg of Aple ][ (/c /e +) called Pravetz 8x (82/8C/8M/8E)
my first game every to play was
APPLE ][ (i know some of them are not only for Apple ][ but)

HARD HAT MACK
DIAMOND MINE
SPACE RAIDERS
GAMESTONE WARRIOR - gee - that game really turned me on - I was 15 years old when I try to hack it to get maximum life and never to die - and I succeeed
BLACK MAGIC - also very cool game - also hacked this one to get infinite life
CAPTAIN GOODNIGHT - oh my - that was great experience - hard to hack though!
DROLL - that game was just brilliant
SKY FOX - amazing! and later I understood that some 16 years teenager wrote it! - I was ashamed! - gee that guy really made this game by himself - alone?!?! wow!
ARCHON II, ARCHON I - actually i liked them better on PC (i've played them first on PC - then I found them for my Apple]
WINTER OLYMPICS
SUMMER OLYMPICS
and many many many others - I have to say - yes - all those were cracked games - warez - but this is the only way they were coming in Bulgaria
also AZTEC!!... forgot AZTEC!
gee now I can say I've played much more variations of game time ago - and they all were fun and different one from each other - not like our days.... Only Heroes makes distinction...

some of Lucas Art quests - didn't like them so much as Sierra old ones (especially ones in which you write)
IMPOSSIBLE MISSION - gee - that was cool game! - I also got this one for Apple][
..... and many more for Apple][ and PC
1999 i first time played PSX - when I came to USA - we didn't have any PSX in Bulgaria (or maybe just few) - it's funny cause my first job here was to port a game and we were supposed to port PSX game (Metal Gear Solid + VR missions) to PC - and I never saw or programmed PSX (Playstation) before... that was nice experience - now I like console games more - with one big exception - HEROES!!

Plan every second of a bank robbery - like in these old movies. Great stuff - I wish there would be a follow-up to this one (and a better one than The Clou for PC).
Didn't manage to rob the last building, tho.
Zak McKraken (C64)
The first Point-and-Click Adventure I played. Brilliant humour and interesting puzzles. Mindbenders must die!
Tetris (C64)
Who doesn't know it?
Mad TV (PC)
Manage a TV station. Very interesting topic. Unfortunately the game is a bit too easy. It gets a little bit harder if you don't broadcast anything the first week, lol.
Civilization (PC)
Damn, that one got me REALLY addicted, almost played 2 days in a row. Imo, this is one of the games with a good AI (although it doesn't play 'fair'). At least I always had severe problems to win on highest difficulty.
