How to remove the delay at the beginning of battles
When a battle starts, there's this sound playing and for 5 seconds or so there is nothing happening. I was watching a game on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmCht93EC0o) and I think they didn't have this delay. So how to remove it? Or is it just bad quality of the video that "removes" it? It would be very neat for really small battles.
Thanks!

If you go to "Effects Volume" in Options and turn it off completely, the fanfare that plays at the beginning of battles doesn't play, so the battle starts immediately. Also, it was removed in the HD mod (I highly recommend getting the HD mod if you haven't already, it's soooooo good)

Tried the Salamander-method, since I still wanted to keep other sounds. Works awsome.
Btw I havent had need for HD mod since the old "homm3 lighter" tool does all I need besides original game.

The download link isn't working for me... It links to an imac.png file instead of a .rar file...
Can anyone rehost it or know where to dl it?

Heroes reads all sounds if they are placed in Data folder. Thus you can customize your setup by opening Heroes3.snd with MM archive, extract sounds then create empty wavs and name them regardless what you want to mute. For example, I have all battle pre-music disabled, first day/month music too, and a few others which I don't want anymore to hear.
Once empty wavs done, place them in Data folder, that's all.
