Casual Duel Map Games
With my duel map ready and functional, the time has come for some games  Anyone who feels like testing his skills or just having some fun drop by, introduce yourself and see who rises to the challenge.
For those who don't know what the map is about, it's pretty simple really. Your hero starts at lvl 25 with 1000 tears/blood points, he picks up his army, picks his skills, buys the artifacts of his preference et voila - you're good to go!
You can find the current map version here, see you on the battlefield Speaking of which I am itching for a battle, anyone interested in a duel or two?

Turns out that I have to go but rest assured that our meeting on the battlefield is inevitable! *salutes*
Apart from my game with Dave, I was a little surprised that nobody wanted to arrange a game with me or anyone really. Don't be shy guys, step right up! Or do you want me to think that people of an H6 forum don't want to play H6?
The games are fairly short if that's what is stopping you. I'd say about 20 mins more or less.

Then I'll have to make sure that the map is up to your standards by then Today's duel dev event was a lot of fun, I had several games with equal losses and wins and I enjoyed every single one. Except maybe when that 30 attack chieftain used might over magic turning my pyromancer's destructive and magic unit damage into zero, the slaughter that ensued was indescribable 
Kudos to polyglot for being a good sport and for his vast improvement after our first game  Good choice of skills even if there were a few tactical mistakes but holy crap, that was one hell of a duel to turn around! My tears cleric simply could not penetrate his shogun hide, those kirins just did not want to die. I was playing the waiting game, hoping to halt his advance and stand my ground which was kind of a desperate plan since my damage was pathetic and my mana run out at some point. To my credit though I managed to keep my losses in check and even came out victorious. Good game.
Also had a couple of games with Nikolas, an apparently experienced duelist. Things are about to become interesting..

How was your damage pathetic? Those Glories of yours were deadly, You kept resurrecting everyone, and I couldn't even touch your Marksmen. I was doomed roughly from the moment You ganged up on my Time-Stasised Kirins (A brilliant move, that ) Looking forward to a rematch, it was tons of fun

Only the glories could do something and I was too hesitant to bring the sisters out in the open. Which proved a good idea, their heal was life saver.. And imagine that my marksmen had +3 dmg from the emerald yumi bow! It barely showed but then their damage is a little sub par to begin with.
PS I also had mass regeneration/burning determination and summon light elementals but lacked the mana to cast them! Forgetting meditation was a big, big mistake.

Holy crap, polyglot gave me my closest(and longest) game yet. We must have been playing for an hour  Vindicator versus boneguard can make one hell of a fulfilling game, nobody dies easily and there is plenty of room for tactics, comebacks and obscure combinations. Not to mention that necro proves a great melee combatant, a refreshing change from turtling. Well played
PS where are all the other others? You are missing out

There is no way to ban artifacts that appear in artifact merchants while random artifacts do not work properly and relics may appear where you set minor. I had to pick the lesser evil

H6 duel principle for newbs like me
As promised in the latest video, here is the principle I adhere to when dueling, and the reasons newbs should consider adopting it:
Golden Rule: If it makes You snow your pants, kill it until it dies*
*Addendum: when battling Undead, kill it until it dies again. And again.
Explanation:
Now that we established You are a newb, we can safely say that at first absolutely everything makes You snow your pants. This is normal.(If it isn't true for You, hypothetical newbie reader, it should be after a few embarrassing defeats.)
What every newb needs, is a good opponent. Go find one, I'll wait.
While You frantically try to be everywhere at once, killing everything, your opponent will be doing just that. Observe and adapt his/her methods
Eventually, You will see which stacks make You snow your pants the most. If You frequently change races, hopefully You will see
a, The most successful combos and uses of each creature
and/or
b, Available counters of said uses.
These are a newb's most useful tools. Through your numerous defeats, a patchwork collection of attacks and their counters will emerge.
Now your real work begins. You are not likely to win more than the odd matchup if You simply mimic everything.
But!
Now that You have the basics down pat, You can start experimenting on your own. String together anything and everything You learned directly or indirectly from your opponent(s) in such a way that the Golden Rule can be applied. If the stack that makes You snow your pants the most is down, move on to the one that does so among the remaining ones. A defeat is nothing more than an indication that You have to work on either on your snowing priorities, or your strewn-together tactics(which You should be able to refine at this stage - maybe even making up new 'patches' in the process- on your own.
Notice something weird? If You followed this guide throughly, now You can repeatedly enforce the Golden Rule yourself while keeping your underpants clean. Congrats! You are now no longer a newb!
