A guard escorts you to the throne room. There the king and the Elven messenger are talking about the upcoming threat.
"...and if He arrives, He will destroy the world just by existing. I'm not saying that He's planning to do that, but He doesn't know that his life energy is too powerful for this world.", the Elf finishes.
The guard bows: "My king, they are here."
"Ah, the warriors! I'm glad you're here! There is so much to be done and there is little time for wasting, so you should be going immediately."
The king pauses for a moment. He was thinking of something.
"Your Highness, may I suggest something?", the guard asked.
The king turned to the guard: "Suggest what?"
"Well,", the guard started, "why doesn't our Elven guest tag with our warriors? He'll be an excellent guide in the Elven lands.'
"Of course!", the Elf replied, "I would be honored to travel along these fine men."

Broinhild was eager to ask about his task. Knowledge was the key in this situation.
"If we need to find 'Him', how are we going to stop 'Him'? If we need to kill 'Him', will we need a very powerful force because of 'His' powers?", asked Broinhild.
"By the way, we're going to need magical equipment if we're going to deal with this kind of a being, right?"

Vulkan was in the middle of forging swords for the palace guards when the king requested to see him. So he went to the audience dressed in his working attire. Though his face was black from the soot of the forge, his friendly green eyes were shining and radiating goodness. Vulkan stood there beside his fellows wearing an old, soot stainded brown apron, and holding his trusty smithing hammer.
When Vulkan entered he nodded at Broinhild,a fellow warrior. He listened to what the elven guest had to say, and to Broinhild's concerns regarding the equipment.
- Provided with the materials I can forge the weapons.- Said Vulkan. His voice was low and deep.- However I'm no spellweaver. So enchanting them is another question. I will however gladly accompany the emissary back to his land. It's been a while since my sword cutted the flesh of an enemy.

Ssrath Bluefire had been burried in a book when the royal guards came for him. Being summoned by the king had been a first, though it would not be his first visit to the palace as he had worked with the court magi before. The guards had offered little to no usable explaination towards the reasons of his summoning.
The arrival had been untimely, as he, and the two Humans who were summoned as well, had missed most of the explaination of the Elf.
Judging by both their build and their attitude, both of the Humans were warriors. Ready to head off whereever at moments notice without preparation and ever eager to sink their weapons in the bodies of their enemies.
"I ssupposse I could provide for the magical enchhantmentss." Ssrath said with the pronounced lisp that was so common among Lizardmen.
"But there are important preparationss that need to be taken care of, before we sset ssail to the Elven Landss. Chhief of them being that the Elven Ambasssador hass not told uss who, or what "He" iss. And if "He" iss indeed ass powerfull as the Ambasssador claimss, russhing over there to sslay thiss "He" iss tantamount to ssuicside. Ssomething on which I am not alltogether keen."
"And for the record, I ressent" and to emphasise the word Ssrath had his hand erupt into a roaring blue flame, "being called either a warrior or a man."

"A lot of questions here, but no time to answer.", the king said, "There is something you need to do before you go to the Elven Realm..."
"Excuse me,", the guard interrupted, "but these men... eh, people need to know who "He" is in the first place."
"Umm, yes, yes, but as I already said there is little time. Our Elven guest will explain everything on the journey to the Ancient Shrines."
"Yes, of course!", the Elf answered, "The Ancient Shrines contain pieces of a powerful artifact which will allow us to communicate with "Him", but everything will be explained along the way. The first shrine is located in the Swamps and we must depart quickly. You'll have about an hour to pack your stuff and get your gear for the journey. Use that time well..."
The king wished you good luck and gave you his blessings.
((as you're leaving the throne room))
"Also, "He" is not an enemy, but a guest we cannot host in this world.", the Elf said.

Ssrath's face took on a brooding expression as they left the throneroom.
"An hour?" He asked rethorically.
"It musst have sslipped hiss Mayessty'ss mind that it takess me the better part of two dayss jusst to travel to the capitol." He turned to the Elf. "Either we make a detour to my domicsile, or we have to reconvene in five dayss."

- You're not the only one with a problem like this Spellweaver- Vulkan said to the lizardman.- Although I live just on the outskirts of our capital, it takes a little bit more than an hour to get there. My armor and weapons are still at home, and there isn't a horse strong enough to carry me.- Vulkan gestured one of the guards to come.- Arron- He addressed the guard- Do me a favor and go to the market square. Find my fool apprentice and tell him to get back to the forge. If he refuses, just drag his ass there. I'd go and find him myself, but I've got an errand for the king to run, and I'm leaving town.
- Aye, I'll go and find the lad, you can count on me Vulkan.- The guard went off to find Vulkan's apprentice. He was a good student, but the teenage years took better of him, and he'd be hitting on some merchant's daughters than actually do some work.

Alaric, the Castle Magician, catches up with Ssrath and Vulkan.
"Wait, wait! This is from the king.", he hands each of them a small stone, "These are Teleportation Stones. They will teleport you to any place on this world that you can imagine and will be able to teleport you back to the same place you used them on. You can use them to teleport youself back home and return here in time. I've already given one to the man who was with you in the throne room."
With these words the man leaves mumbling something about the frogs in his tower.

Ssrath held the Stone in his hand and probed it with his mind doubtfully.
He knew magus Alaric. Who had equal talents in magic and getting himself, and anyone with the missfortune to be near him, into trouble.
And if that was not enough, teleportation magic was on the whole still theoretical.
"Alaric, if thiss thing misscastss, I'll ssee you dragged before the Magic Councsil." Ssrath bit the court-magus as he walked away. Referring to the Council of heads of the Magic Orders, who governed the practice of magic.
Ssrath's mind probing of the Stone showed no obvious flaws in the spellcasting, but then Ssrath's specialism was Fire so this was outside of his jurisdiction so to speak.
"<sigh>, Be thiss Sstone ass it may. I will sstill need a day to prepare for a longterm leave of abssencse. There are wardss to casst, a Ssteward to appoint to my sseat on the Csity Councsil and one for my land."
Ssrath clamped the Stone in his hand, prepared to try to use it. Before it struck his mind that he'd need his Steedlizard, which was still in the Royal Stables. Assuming that the teleportation worked on everything that was on the person, Ssrath would need to be either on or holding his mount for the beast to come with.
"If all goess well, I'll ssee you the day after tomorrow. Gentlemen." And with that, Ssrath made his way to the stables.
