town screen freezes
need help here plz
i play on my laptop wich got a Nvidia geforce gt 540m graphiccard, and my game frezees i the townscreen almost every single time i enter.a town.
I ve trid launching the game in safe mode, lowered my settings and tried deleting my might and magic heroes 6 folder in my document folder, but none of this helps,
any1 got sny tips and tricks to stop my game from freezing ?
or any information about this bug or a date for when its gonna be taken care of ?
im a dedicated heroes 1-6 player whos been away from the game for 10 months, and im really longing to play now :-(

There have been similar problems with the last patch - in my case the town screen shows black and white rectanges  It should be fixed in the next one, hopefully during the week.

sure hope that fix comes soon im going freaking crazy restarting my game client all the time.
5 times in an hour tonight :-(
if the game had been a physical product like a phone or a computer I would complained to the producer and asked them to fix it asap or demanded a refund.

still freezes after patch 1.8 and an upgrade of nvidia to 306.97 :-(

Repost from our board, official reply from Ubi Tech Support:

Most of the customers who had the same problem with the game fixed the issue by changing the texture quality of the game. By changing it from low to high resolved the checkered board issue. If that did not fix the issue, then the development team may have to release a patch or they may have to work with Nvidia to see if a update will help the issue. It has to do with the graphics and textures so a work around from us here at support may not be a true fix and the only thing that may fix it is going to be a patch update.
That worked for me so I'll post it here for anyone else to read. Note they earlier, suggested settings low, but reversed that today.
You may also try to downgrade your nvidia drivers.
As reply outlined, they do not aim to fix it now or ever as they do not consider for a mistake on their side. And also this help usually really help  Try and report!

finally got an evening to try and fix my heroes (hard with 45-50 hour work week and 2 small kids under 2 years :-) ) and I was succesfull.
I downgraded my nvidia driver. I ve been playing for 30 min now without any freezes yeah .-)
If any1 else wanna try this u can find your nvidia driver here

if this dosnt work then
According to fixes posted on the official forums:
1. When the Game Launcher appears, go to “settings” and uncheck “Enable save game synching”.
2. Go to: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegame_storage\[an alphanumeric code]\[a folder with a number]
3. Note : some of these files are hidden and you may need to unhide them via Windows Folder Options.
4. Delete those folders with the save games and restart the game.
If this does not work, bassemandere on the official forums has another suggestion:
1. Go to Documents/Might & Magic Heroes VI/(username)/ there open “ProfileData”
2. Open Profile data with Notepad, and make sure ‘word wrap’ is on. Then change this :
<gfx_Fullscreen2>Fullscreen</gfx_Fullscreen2>
TO THIS:
<gfx_Fullscreen2>Windowed</gfx_Fullscreen2>
3. Also lower your resolution. Mine was
<gfx_Resolution >1600×900</gfx_Resolution>
I CHANGED IT TO :
<gfx_Resolution >1360×768</gfx_Resolution>
- please note that you can change to an even lower resolution, like 1280×800 or 1280×768. The idea is that a lower resolution is better!
well hope theres some1 who can use this information
if any1 got any other ways to fix the bug plz post them here so we can gather all the information need to fix the bug in 1 tread

After i had rolled back my Nvidia driver (GT 550 Ti) from 306.97 back to 301.47 i sometime when go in town their are some lag period but it not freeze anymore, i think that rolled back driver is optional solution.
