How to make new terrain textures?
Hi everyone,
I am new to modding(actualy I started modding few weeks ago)and I need some answers if is possible.My question is:
How I am supposed to make new terrain textures

I doubt that is possible since the only new textures that have been added that I know of,were ones from H6. When I asked if those could be added to the Editor, I was told they could not be added directly. As I understand it; the modified textures are loaded in place of the default but are not true additions to be used whenever.
It would be great if you could do this work, I would enjoy more selections.

Maybe, it could be done with replacing textures.But I am not so sure to new one can be loaded in some another "group".If is possible,I going to try with replacing old ones with new ones(actualy if I found where the textures are )It will be realy nice to I can make the "new group"of the textures

1.I have maked one new texture
2.I have putted it into texture "group" Grass
3.I'm packed it into new .pak file
4.Putted it into HOMM5/data folder
5.Not working -_-'
Have I installed on wrong way?
It's packed OK(I think)

Anavi, the packing is OK as and xdb file.But point is to you can't add new "group"(as you said) or to add a new texture to a any other "group"(like in grass one)You can only to replace it.Sorry

I working on replacing old with new one and it goes perfect,for now but I am realy sad becouse I can't add them

Hm, maybe there's a list of all terrain textures in the game data. For music there's a list so I can add music to game. I think there must be something similar for terrains.

No,it's impossible to add new textures or new ''group'' as Anavi said.It's only possible to replace.I try to help,to see do you can make new textures,but you only can replace texture.So it's impossible.

"Second try" for download is a file of road-textures, etc. he & Rama put together.
