Little Stories

And so I ran into the, for me, common problem of not having anything to talk about when I needed to keep a conversation going... and the natural thing I tried to do was think back and see if I had any little stories to tell and I realised that a lot of us probably stock pile our own little histories. I have one in particular that I enjoy.

So, I live in Sweden. It's a dark, cold and foresty place and a few years ago I was at my parents place far out on the country. It wasn't really a farm, but they do have some apple trees, berry bushes, a few horses, some dogs and such. Now, as some of you might know, a lot of animals like eating apples and so we had seen a few animals during the autumn. Mostly doe and a lone moose that used to come there a couple of times a week, but as this story takes place in the early days of winter and so the apples were already old and rotten, used or frozen.
Being the nerd I am I was the last one to go to bed, and so I was just gonna take the dogs out for a quick pee and some fresh air before heading off to bed. They usually don't run off at night or when it's too cold so I just opened the door for them... and they instantly charged away at something, barking pretty loudly. I pretty much jumped into a pair of shoes and... the dogs returned, no longer barking, but yelping. I stick my head out the door only to pretty much headbutt the moose that's right there on my doorstep. Quite panicky I slam my fist into her face and slam the door shut. Never saw that moose again... and yeah, this is the story of how I punched a moose in the face, and I punched it hard enough for it to never show its face around our house again, despite us having a delectable collection of easily accessible food.

So, tell me your stock stories? The stories that you tell people you just know somewhat... the people at the pub, people at school or work or on the internet. I'm sure some of you have a few to share.

Actually... I kind of tried to kiss the girl man, but she almost said no. Then later I found out she's got a boyfriend and now we're all best friends!

Cool moose story. I got a similar but less dangerous one.

I live in the same dark, cold and foresty place as you do and it happened last summer. I came back from a dogwalk with my two adorable dogs and I let them into the house through a door that was already opened while I entered the main door. Shortly after I entered the house I hear the dogs barking like crazy and violent claw against floor sounds and I think that they have for some reason gotten into a fight. I hurry over to the living room and discover a hawk on a window panel. My two siblings quickly arrive after me and together we lock the two crazy yet very cute dogs in another room and then precede to plan the hawks rescue. At first my brother was going to take with his hand using heat protecting gloves but those hawk claws and beak looks pretty darn sharp so he chickened out for good reason. We also decided that taking it by hand was not only a danger to us but also to the hawk since it might try to escape on its own before taken outside. Eventually dad came home and he decided to shot it with his handgun. It was bloody and my sister had to look away. It was awful but later we buried it in the yard and prayed for it... Lol, just kidding. I found a moving box that me and my brother used to trap the hawk and it was to scared to resist. Then we simply carried the box outside in the yard. At first it did not dare to leave the box so we had to slide it out of it and take a few steps away before it flew off. I watched it circle the sky a few times before it disappeared... BUT THEN IT CAME BACK AND SWOOPED DOWN AND TOOK MY SISTER AND FLEW AWAY!!!!!!!! I never saw her again... Just kidding again. But we got most of this on video so I got proof if you dare question my story or report me to the police for animal cruelty.
