you CAN get heroes 3 to work with Windows 8

and, without installing an older operating system.

with everyone buying new computers, i thought it would be a good idea to post this for whoever wants to know. you CAN run heroes 3 in windows 8. i posted about it here:

link

all you have to do is follow the link there to find out how to get to the boot menu. from the boot menu, just find the boot-up option that allows you to boot with compatability with older windows versions. my post there is more specific.

my heroes 3 works fine.

yeah, my heroes 3 works fine, but my objtxteditor does not. i have followed the instructions on this site and every one i could find on the web, i have downloaded BOTH "mscomctl.ocx"s, for both 32-bit and 64-bit windows. what i get when i try to use the command prompt to install it(or register it, whatever) is: "may not be compatible with the version of windows you are running". i have tried installing both 32-bit and 64-bit, in the appropriate place in the windows folder and folders inside, and i'm not getting anywhere. anyone have an answer to this problem?
