What does this message mean? (old HOMM3 version)
I played homm3 for over 10 years, I love it, it's the proof that good graphics don't make a good game, gameplay does, I got this german version of homm3 because I want to learn german and I already know the game inside out.
EXCEPT the version that I have is the classic no armageddon/shadow of death, you can get necromancy on ANY hero, for example.
Here's the thing: when you come across an artifact on adventure map you have a chance of
-the artifact being guarded by monsters (as if someone edited in map editor and put an event ON the artifact, this can happen on ANY artifact, campaign, normal scenario etc, and this got removed in older versions
-Sometimes you simply can't get the artifact, I don't know why, the rough translation is that "some soldier comes up and says you are not worthy of getting the artifact "blah blah"" so it's like library of enlightment, just a vague message, but what am I supposed to do? I know for library you need to be at least level 10 without diplomacy
I Only seen these 2 things happen in this old german version

also, anyone knows where I can get german armageddon blade/shadow of death? ebay doesn't seem to have it, and I can't manage to get the right files to copy-paste from an english armageddon/shadow over the german homm3 without messing up the game completely

Sometimes You need to have a specific skill to be able to get the artifact: 'first true leader' means Leadership, 'first wise man' means Intelligence(/Wisdom in H2), etc...

no wonder they removed it, it's a horrible thing :\ oh and the AI knows the exact possition of grail with only very few pieces of puzzle map. He just goes across the map in a spot covered in fog of war and digs in the exact spot which isn't even the cener of the puzzle map, what a cheater! And grail can spawn anywhere, so you can sometimes see the edge of the map in the puzzle

God, I almost forgot that, it has been years since last I played RoE. Thank godness SoD & AB fixed that

I don't know... and btw there's a bug in inferno town, if you got something like more than 6 ish town gates, then the oldest town you had disappears from the list... anyway
bump, because I'm still lookin for armageddon blade/shadow of death/wog german versions... great game

Look at the bright side, you are the only one of us who can sacrify 20 enemy archangels to resurrect a bunch of imps... 
Or attack a griffin conservatory, kill 40 giffins and came out with a 4 angels.
And you can really make a gremlin rush.
Oh, sometimes I miss this ones...
