Poll Question: What Heroes game would you like to be re-made the most?
Let's say that someone like Overhaul Games was given an opportunity to remake an older Heroes of Might and Magic game with polished mechanics/graphics/whatever and other fancy stuff.
But which game would YOU like to be turned into HD?
I'm not talking about the specifics of said remake, since that's a different story, but I want to hear your opinions on which HoMM deserves a face-lift the most.
Personally, I think that Heroes IV warrants it more than anything else.
Why?
1. It was rushed, and many things could've been done better.
2. It has some interesting mechanics that were sadly dropped in later installments, for better or for worse.
3. GORGEOUS MUSIC! (which of all things could be left as is)
4. Little mod support. (apart from Equillibris I don't know of any, and it isn't WoG, either)
Some may say "Why not HoMM3, man?".
It's simple - the game has timeless charm to it, there are little things to be fixed, and WoG and other mods kept the game alive for well over a decade, unlike other NWC's Heroes games.
The original HoMM was outclassed by HoMM2, which could also be re-made (technically it's already been remade, given the Succession Wars mod).
So for me, HoMM IV is the only right way to go. (Heroes V is kinda ugly, but that isn't enough to remake it and it would be pointless since it's relatively new)

I have to go with Heroes 4 as well, because those sexy, sexy campaigns... Also, hero-less armies were interesting (if annoying) and added a bit of depth to the strategy of the game.

Sexy campaigns? Campaignwise, H4 was a BIG downstep to H3 for me, because it became LINEAR again -.-

So campaigns are, regardless of your point of view, another reason for H4HD.
(my opinions on campaigns are not to be valued highly since I'm mostly a hot-seat player)
I guess it all boils down to Heroes II and Heroes IV, and I can say that with a certain degree of objectivity.

Voted HoMM3, because, yeah WoG did a lot, but things like the skill system and the resource system just feel so dated these days, HoMM3 with the H5 skill system and some of the adventure-map objects from H4 and H5 would be brilliant IMO.

H4, make the towns more like how they were in the other games. That's all I'd really like to change. And maybe give each hero a specialty again.

H4 with unique town layouts (for lack of a better term), but with terrain influencing the screen would be a thing of beauty.
And honestly, what's wrong with the H3 resource system? It's pretty much the same exact thing as Heroes V, unless I'm missing something.
It's Heroes VI that snowed it up for no apparent reason.

At least H5 gives you things like Artificer, Runic Magic and the Arcane Library to spend your rare resources on after you've built your town. Okay, resource system might be the wrong term, does 'resource usage system' sound better?

I'd rather see a reverse remake: H5 in 2D, with the H2 art style.

Either that, or proper racials in Heroes 3.
Gating for Inferno would be sweet as hell (pun intended), if not unfitting lore-wise.

Definitely Heroes 4. Heroes 2 was excellent, Heroes 3 has VCMI which is highly moddable and Heroes 5 has Eternal Essence which improves the greatest flaw of this game: AI. Heroes 4 was a good game, but with many flaws that can be corrected. I liked H4 more than Heroes 6, and I still play H4 more than H6.

I would like to see a new HoMM 2 version. It was my first Heroes game and will always be my favourite.

I wish not they would remake a heroes but scrap H6 immediately and start making a new one which
a) keeps what is the basic of the game (town screens, battle screens, stacks, etc.) and what is fun and unique about heroes (random element in skill choice, for example)
b) has at very very very last 6 factions in the base game
c) revamps thrown-away features from former games that were good ideas, but badly implemented, not fully thought-through or simply not balanced though balancable (waves at HoMM IV)
d) has a good map and campaign editor (basically, an H3 editor with expanded options of customization and an included quest and hero editor)
e) returns to an H3 graphic-style (style, not quality!!!)
f) drops Ashan!!!
