Uplay problems
Ever since the primary Uplay application updated itself to version 3.0 a week or so ago, I have been having frequent problems with getting started. It often (25% or more) tries to load HOMM VI but just sits there with a black screen and the circle pointer going. I have to use task manager to stop it, and retry. Whenever a little popup telling me to hit shift F2 to get back to Uplay appears, then the game will start -- so I think that something is wrong in that it is waiting for that pop up, but it isn't happening.
In addition, I have had a couple of times in the past few days when I cannot connect to the conflux -- it is claiming that internet connection timed out.
Is there a way of starting HOMM VI directly without using the Uplay application, but still connecting to the conflux?
(as an aside -- my profile says to always show my signature block, but I have to click the box for that to happen --- why?)

I had that issue, and I think I solved it the following way. When Uplay starts, go to settings and disable Enable in-game overlay for supported games. Actually I only have setting for proxy enabled, everything else is disabled. I hope this will help you.

Thanks. I'll try that, even though I have no idea what "in-game overlay" is:-}}
I made that change, and tried starting the game three times. Each time it started, albeit without that little "press shift-F2 to go to Uplay" pop-up. Each time it took about 15 seconds of black screen before the UBISOFT logo came up, and then proceeded with the rest of the loading and connecting to the conflux.
Looks good so far.
