Final Fantasy VII on Steam
So Final Fantasy VII is released on Steam, for a measly 12€. If you want to check it out, here's the place to get it, as a decent copy on PSX will cost you atleast 30€.
Clicky.

I've heard this isn't as good as the PS1 version, because the audio quality is worse. There’s also a 1998 PC release that has the same problem, but it has a lot of mods for it, and I don't know if they're compatible with this version. So my recommendation is to either get the PS1 version and play it in an emulator (at a high resolution) or get the 1998 PC version.

From what I can gather, it's no more than a re-release of the old PC version, only they added steam achievements, so most mods should be compatible. If not, the community will convert them pretty soon. I was hoping for an HD remaster, but Squeenix denied one long ago.

It's one of those things for which I assume you'd need nostalgia glasses to enjoy, so I'm holding off for now (also, I spend way too much on steam, already.)
