Lol, are you serious? You have the disk and isn't working, so download a torrent, 1 hour max. You just lost one week with useless talk.
And how am I supposed to know it's safe huh? I thought this forum was meant to help each other. If this thread bothers you so much, simply be on your way instead of being negative.
he's a bit grumpy, yes, but he has done a lot for the community, just forgive him
PS: I swear h3 will work if you copy the folder from other computer, if you have access to one with an older OS (ideally XP), then copy to a pen drive and be happy.

Solved
I finally found out why SOD would not install. The problem is the sysinfo.exe file in the support directory. This file shows my current OS. Curiously, I checked this file on my Armagdeddon’s Blade disk (coz that one installed) and guess what: this one said ‘Windows 95’, despite my current system. So what I did was making a copy of SoD, swapping the sysinfo files et voila, the game now works!

spades said: Shadows of Death however starts as well, but immediately comes up with the following error message:
"Setup has found that you don't have Service Pack 4 installed on this machine."
The readme file on the CD shows the next requirement:
Operating System: Windows® 95/98 or Windows NT® 4.0 Service Pack 4
so I guess it searches for the NT 4.0 SP4. This is needed for the multiplayer game. The installation of Heroes III and Armageddon's Blade signal this error as well, but offer the option to continue installation. Shadows of Death however does not and simply stops installing.
I have started the file 'setup.exe' in the directory _setup in all compatibility modes by using a shortcut, or a copy of the files on disk including the 'setup.exe', but no luck so far.
Does anyone have a suggestion on the solution of this one?
I have just been installing on a new Windows 11 box, and had the same issue, with RoE and AB installing OK, but SoD giving the error above. I was able to install by setting the compatibility settings on setup.exe to Windows 95.
