@Lord_Immortal: I like you vibe with the Tiers. 1-4 all generic and then 5-7 depending on the sub-faction....very cool It's the upper tiers that are the strong units, so interesting...

Of course there's nothing saying it has to be done like that, you could have a 'standard' lineup with each faction just replacing one or two creatures from it (say T1 and T6 for one faction, T2 and T5 for another and T3, T4 and T7 for the third)

I think that there will hardly be any changes in H7 in regards to alternative creatures/upgrades, subfactions and all ideas discussed so far. We're just a bunch of crazy fans fantasizing in a lone corner of the internet. Ubi prolly doesn't even know we exist. And even if it does it prolly doesn't give a.. snow? (what's the deal with the "snow" thing?)

I dunno about that. Heroes6 changed the formula quite a bit. It didn't work as they would've hoped, but they made rather big changes. They may well do so again in the future. I hope they have not been "traumatised" too much by the last experience and abandon all will to innovate. I must certainly do not hope they go to the other end of the spectrum and make a "Heroes3 HD". IMO, if you want to play Heroes3, go play Heroes3. Don't go telling the owners to make you a new one.
As for Ubisoft knowing we exist. Believe me, they do. Elvin and someone I don't remember are Insider Fans. (Fans respected by the community who have been invited to share their, their community's ideas and respond to Ubi's) Marzhin, Lead Map-Designer & Lore-buff, is a somewhat active member of this forum. And Irina, Community Manager, is a regular lurker here. So they do know.
If they do anything with our speculations and ideas is a different matter, among other things because of a fuzzy legal situation if they do.
Lastly the Snow-thing is because of the puritan Language-filter on this here dagnabbit forum.

As far as moonshade and Lord_Immortal's proposals go, as creative as they likely are, I...eh...have a few gripes about them.
One, they're lists of names. With little to no imagery, you rely on the peoples imagination to conjure up what you mean. As a result, what I might imagine as a Death Knight may be vastly different from what you intended. I know that I did little else for Stronghold a few pages back, but that was intended as a 'proof of concept'. I proposed the concept, not the specific line-up.
Two, the lists seem to have little to no connection, or even severe disconnections with the given lore.
Thirdly, and this applies less to moonshade, I believe Ubisoft had stated that they have no intention to returning to the old 7 tiers structure. So if you want to be taken seriously, you may want to consider moulding it to that format.

Orlly? So they know.. Then I guess Ubi's mental. Cuz I can't see how Ubi followed the community's ideas with H6. I agree with your post on some other thread that H5 TotE was quite good, but it's still way below H3 in my book. So, my point is.. if Ubi's paying so much attention to the community and our requests then why didn't it deliver a good Heroes? Are they nuts?

And sure, no one wants another H3, we want much more than that. But if if Ubi won't start thinking about H3 as a standard they must surpass, then thinking about H3 as a goal they must achieve will still do. Sadly they failed so far, so I don't see any reason for having high expectations for a good H7.

Heroes6 was more or less set in stone when the insiders were invited. And they still managed to change a number of, admitedly marginal, things. They have been a lot more involved since. Also, you musnt think that Ubisoft specifically asks the fans what they want, to do just that. They ask the fans what they want, to adapt their current ideas to be better recieved.
Also, We, Heroes Community, are one of many communities. Our insiders are but a few voices in a cacofonous choir.

I find it so true when I remember that about a year ago when the community was asking Elvin and other insiders for balancing issues and other meaningful stuff I was IM-ing him about asking ubi to make them introduce a hero model for Katsue, and other random stuff like that

The fact is that H6 was a mess. How ambitious would you be if you knew that a large number of people hated or were indifferent towards your previous installment? I would personally be more concerned with getting the basic things right and avoid the more controversial and/or complex ideas until I knew that I can deliver a stable, balanced and fun game with map editor/RMG/sim turns/mod support. From there on it should be possible to expand on it with more fancy options but I would be very surprised if ubi went with complex subfaction structures from the very beginning. That's entirely up to the budget of course but realistically speaking.. how deep would their pockets run after the H6 fiasco?

That was not exactly what I meant. I meant to express that the HC-insiders are but a few of many and that every insider might and likely will tell something different. And it is impossible for the devs to implement everything the insiders propose and voice.
But what you say is true in regards to us and our own insiders. Every member has thing's they'd like changed and is likely to voice that and the insiders have to either select some of them and make themselves strong for that, or voice everything or many things making them all seem rather insignificant.

As it has been said above, H6 was already in the final stages when the insiders/VIPs entered, and it was impossible to make big changes on the game.

However, this time it's seems that they will have a bigger role and discuss about game core features on paper, before it's too late. So there can be hope about H7.

Time will tell

Sure but if so many were disappointed either in the beginning or after playing it, the H6 sales would not in any way be indicative of what the H7 sales would be. From my perspective, an H7 could be a flop if it doesn't change its latest approach.

I fully agree with this. Subfactions, alternative creatures/upgrades, etc. shouldn't be a top priority. These goals could be achieved through expansions or at least through modding. 5/5

Ok, then Imma put what little faith is left in me in H7. But if that's gonna disappoint me, like H6 did, then Imma drop this franchise, quit the forums and Imma get myself a girlfriend!

Oh, btw, since these "insiders" are somewhat of a link between the community and the devs, could we be kept informed about the main points that they'll be advocating for? Cuz I don't wanna have someone talking for the community but pushing his own ideas like they were ours (I'm not making any accusations). Keeping the community informed is a must. Discussions also, sharing ideas also!
So I would like to hear an answer to this, please (I would like Elvin to answer this, since I hear he's an "insider").

Vanilla game sold well. We don't know about the DLCs or the expansion (well, my mind reminds me that PotSS may sold quite well on Poland, but just that).

And have in mind a lot of people are dissapointed with H6, either with the vanilla release (bug fest, no ST, no RMG, bad Map Editor, no TownScreens....), some of game decissions (creature tier system, skill system, etc..) or by the abrupt ending to game support (they left the expansion with important bugs there, as you can see here).

@Stevie
I bring up my ideas often, they are all over the place If you check my profile you'll also find a number of topics regarding what I like or not, where the previous installments succeeded or failed and so on. But long story short, all I want is a stable, smooth, diverse game that is easy to pick up and difficult to master. If ubi delivers that on single as well as multiplayer I will be happy. But this topic has a different purpose so I'll soon have to make a new update

If you want a more detailed version of my thoughts I might make a new topic when and if I find the time but I think that my topics as well my recent posts should give you a good idea of what I'd like.

Why would we pay money for the game when we play it here for free here?^^

Actually, you might be on to something.

Ubisoft could make a heroes game with no story and only two factions that are exactly the same. Then, they could make a really user-friendly map maker, and creature creature and give it to us fanatical fans to do the rest of the work for them.

There you have it. Heroes 7 on a budget with 123 different factions and and a really cool recruitment mechanism. Alternatively, we might just end up with heroes III.
