Here I go AGAIN...

Well, I know HOMM is alreday out (for some of u at least... I dunno any Canadians who have it already... we hafta wait till mon or tues)... but here's one of my HOMM "Unit Roster Requests". This time, I figured since there's more sections, it'd take me years to complete the message... so I'll just have the creature name and its habitat down.

I've now classified the creatures according to the terrain found in their habitat. If 3D0 were to accept this for the fifth installement, let them figure out the magic system cuz I've no idea how magic will work here. I just like the creatures. As for pics, I WOULD post pics in, but maybe later cuz I dunno how to insert pics in a message.

Creatures in brackets are creatures that I wasn't entirely sure of adding into the roster.

Unit types:
INF- infantry
SRNG- short-ranged unit
LRNG- long-ranged unit
MAG- spell-caster with no ranged ability
RMAG- spell-caster with ranged ability

-Hinds are golden stags/deer with female torso... think of a female golden centaur
-Dryads? Why level 4? I used to think they're weak, but FOREST needs a powerful Nature magic user... and Dryad (with green aura surrounding them) can be that magic user. Sorry, I just think Faerie Dragon is not very innovative, no matter how long it's been in the M&M series traditionally.

-I think this theme really fits humans, how they always want to pursue what they do not and create machines for war... and the fact that there are no Level 4 Human units prove that humans rely on technology too much... doesnt that remind u of us today?

Hind maybe is this animal.
But in greek mythology(NOT IN WAR3 they are called Dryad in there) they are called Hind or Golden Hind
It are half female half female deer and have small horns on their head and golden bow, the last hind married with hercules but was killed by hera/ares soon after. They are able to turn their bodies into those of humans but if you touch them or they touch water they will turn into the half deer half woman again.

Girl have you been playing D&D lately? LOL Lamia! I know her from somewhere Normally a lamia is a female vampire with half snake body that eat kids in south america, but D&D turned them into half lions half females(Something like the male parts of Liontaurs.

Manta Ray I know a better name for it, Mantray, this is also called sand Ray or sand Shark, it are giant manta rays that live in the desert and swim in sand, they have the ability to dig and shoot lightnings from their sharp tails.

I asume this town is evil based because it holds Efreeti?

Anacaris is a much better name believe me

First of all... I think the Warlock needs to be a unit.. Like in homm3 there were this units called Enchanter, give him a black suit and some dark spells in a book and you have a cool unit of level 3, they could also be called Shadow Mage or Shadow Druid.

Choas Bat or Dark Familar: I actually like that idea!

You choosen the Will O Wisps to be evil? That's cool However I like them good, helping people who are lost in swamps to find their way home, I know D&D tells the opisive way, then they lure people into swamps to let them walk into quicksand traps or other traps and how more the victims suffer the more food the will o Wisps take out of the fear of the dying victim.

I think Minotaur is a level 3 unit... Ofcourse I use Minotaurs with golden axe and golden masks(This golden mask unables the warlocks/mages to reach their mind, so they are sometimes immune to spells that would confuse/damage the mind of the minotaur. I think I like MInotaur lords more then Minotaurs that are level 2.

Do you use the Female Drider or the male Drider? I Prefer Female.

I Dislike any Demon Idea. The only demons that actually are cool are:Balrog/Incubus/Succubus/Gargoyle/Imp/Gremlin(good Demon)/Pit Lord and maybe some others I forgot but they ALL have a OWN name and all have their own powers.

I never liked the Black Dragon Idea.. I hate Black/REd/Green/Blue names before Dragon. I think you should call it Choas Dragon, and maybe another idea is to give it 2 heads? That makes them look different that all those other dragons.(Altought I use many and you don't)

I hope you will give your manticore level 4 possision and dragon slayer ability(altought you don't use as much dragons as I)

And werewolf.. Just make it wolfman or something because NWC won't include Day/Night effect anyway.

FOREST

Both Ranger/Sharpshooter and Druid are cooler for units(This is because I really hate heroes and I don't care for them anyway)
They should be much cooler as a shapeshifting unit(Druid) and a Elemental arrow using halfelf(Ranger also known as Sharpshooter) I see them as red haired female elves with black paintings around their eyes and they have purple cloakes and a long bow, their abilities are Fire Arrow/Poison Arrow/Ice Arrow/Black Arrow/Light Arrow/Thunder Arrow, The druid should be able to summon animals like Owl/Wolf/Bear or atleast change into them when walking or attacking.

I really really dislike the wolf idea.(But I guess you already knew ) I also dislike normal wood elves.

I always tought the treants were much stronger then level 2? Maybe switch Hind and Treant? Hind are like Centaurs and centaurs are level 2 creatures, or sometimes even level 1.

What's wrong with dryad being level 4? I know dryads as very powerfull Forest Nimphs that can't be beaten by mortal man(Like crusaders and stuff) They are even able to beat dragons and summon treants and forest dragons(small Green Dragons that have the ability to heal death plants and flora with their breath weapon)

Paladin should be a unit and should replace the ultimate boring Crusader, then he could have cool special abilities like aura's, crusaders have only twice a slice(what many other creatures have aswel) But paladin should be able to hurt undead/demons with it's aura and heal the other non mechanical creatures with it.

I never saw the differents between a brownie and a leprechaun.

Ballista=bad idea, maybe when a Gnome is in it.

ROAD

I dislike all human creatures=Pikeman/Archer/Cavalier

The colossus is like a Titan to me,the gnomish Carronade could be displaced by Silver Dragon(you have The master of evil dragons(Black Dragon) but you don't have a good dragon, Golden dragons are boring, so use the female silver dragon!

I like gargoyles evil, I like them to be creations of the evil warlocks, demon souls locked up into obsidian statues!
But I guess more like them as good creatures. My theory says that the Sphinx is the replacer of the Good gargoyle, good mages enslave/summon the help of sphinx and lock a very hard riddle inside them, when the person isn't invited and don't answer the riddle correctly then the sphinx will eat it because it's still part evil, Sphinx only work for gold and other treasurs. it are minions of hera that colllect stuff for her by working for good and bad creatures for treasures. However more Good mages and humoids need their help.

I really dislike Roc, I love thunderbird and rocs are just the same creature but it's hard to make a SPECIAL ability for the ROC so I would pick the bird that can controll weather instead of the giant elephant eating birds.

Is Vultan the same creature as a Kenku or also called Avanger or samurai bird? Half man half eagle and it walks like humans but has the head of eagle and 2 Katana swords that he uses to spin around and form small sharp tornadoes?

Dwarven Cannons? Nah... Dark Dwarves and Mountain Dwarves are enough Dwarves for me!

Pegasi without raider

Sylph is only level 1? They are as good as undine and I saw Undine on level 4 spot. I think they both need the Level 3 spot because it are Elementals.

Fenril-Fenris? They are also called Winter Wolves, they are cool Much better then the Normal Preserve wolves.

Cockatrice=Pyrolisk! I didn't knew that myself untill yesterday, when I watched a D&D site, Pyrolisk is much cooler because the cockatrice turns everybody into stone(Like many other creatures already do) but the Pyrolisk put everything into flames when Looking at it! And they are chaotic evil that makes them cooler

kelpie in stables? The kelpie isn't a horse like I tought before.. It is just a Sea Plant that uses the discuise of Horses to lure it's Virgin preys, it's like the resalka uses the form of a lovely female to lure males into the water and then drown them, Resalka is the female kelpie form. So A better name for it's building should be Lake of Illusion(Because kelpies can make people see things that aren't there and even change the swamp into a paradise with their illusion ability)

Hag=The Baba Yaga hag that turns people into toads?

I really love the Yuan Ti!

Echida:I never tought of her like you did! I really know a cool ability for her! She can summon a random monster (as much as your team can handle) But the monster is truly random and always level 1 to 3(never 4) So like if you have only one Echidna you can summon up to 6 other monsters(it differents from number and you won't summon to much level 3 monsters only when your echidna numbers are really high!

I would replace the zombie with ghouls, because ghouls could have a much cooler ability and ghouls are truly undead and zombies don't like to fight for undead troops anyway.. they are more into warlocks.

I miss the Lacedon! I know you don't know what that is but it's a really cool undead unit! It is a drowned soul that is turned back to life and now has the ability to controll water! They can swim like sharks and like to let boat sink to make more lacedons.

If there is a succubus there should be a incubus aswel!

Yes! it's really cool you know! We both have the same Banshee/Dryad tastes! Your seem to be the only one that understand that those females aren't weak pethatic souls that can't fight! Don't underestimate the power of the banshee!(ps you seem to be a warcraft3 fan aswel! I have the beta! And the banshee from war3 really rocks! it's my favorite unit! Both in abilities and looks! That purple color really suits her!)

Meat Wagen is more like a joke to me! I never make them when playing my favorite war3 race the undead. Believe me abonimations are much more worth your money! Since they putted in meat wagons I really wanted to cry! It's a really stupid unit!

Ahhhh! The cerberus should be level3! Why 3Do makes them so weak anyway! It are giant 3 headed hell hounds that breath fire! Damn! level 2 is much to weak for them

When you have banshees then you don't need to have Ghosts anymore.

We both have the same level 4 necorpolis creatures! Bone Dragon and Grim Reapers seem to be perfect for that job

I dislike walrus creatures because I think they are not cool even in the animal words.

Leviathan? Do you use the Whale version or the sea Serpent version? Or do you use my version? I use a green like Behemoth version(Because they can walk on the heroes style and fish can't)

I would like to see the Scylla in there aswel! This could be a sea serpent with many heads like Hydra's But only it's color is Dark Blue and it's heads are like the murene. that would be a really cool unit!

Siren:If you make them harpy styles they look to much like harpies and become boring.
I think they are cooler as mermaid version, just cut the mermaid and put in the siren version.


Some cool ideas! Ignore or use my complaines/tips whatever you would like to call them, but It are just my opininons and they aren't meant hatefull and I like most of it anyway

Not exactly

But some of those stories are cooler then the Real greek mythology stories.

Take Hind and Centaur for that matter, or echidna

But others like Medusa and Typhon and hydra are much cooler in the Mythology Stories(so not Hercules series)

And others like Minotaur are much cooler in NON of the 2 I really dislike the minotaurs in both hercules and the Real mythology.. but the D&D and Homm Minotaurs are cool

I just choose the coolest creatures from were I saw or read about them.(I guess that hind were darion is talking about is from the Real mythology) But I dislike that one.. That one is more for the dryad to me, Dryads turn people into big white stags aswel.

And Sorry.. but did you ever see a half deer half female somewhere else? I didn't... And I really liked the idea.

Woah sorry, can't update this anytime soon... and Wes I saw ur other post. EEK how da heck did u find that many pics? I noticed some of them can be found in my bro's dungeons and dragons books (Medusa, Sphinx, etc)... did u scan them?

*sigh* I wish I had a scanner. Anyways I can't update it cuz of HOMM IV... just got it last Tuesday. And wow, I've only played as Order and Preserve so far and here are my quick thoughts.

Order:
Well, great units, especially Mages and Genies in large numbers. Poison and Ice Bolt, as well as Create Illusion ROCKS! But I didn't find a lot of Order's magic spells very useful. I didn't think I'd like the Dragon Golems, but wow, I just love their First Srike Attacks!

Nature:
Hmm... despite large numbers, Elves still don't do a lot of damage. *sigh*... I like the idea of the Creature Portal though. If only Mermaid was in this town it would be my fave town. It starts out REALLY weak, with its very fragile wolves. At least the sprites' attacks result in no retaliation but my wolves keep dying. I expected more from them. I don't find the magics too great either. So far, I've only been able to raise my druid (Eleece) up to level 15 with only Nature Magic Expert, and the only summon spell I like is the summon griffin spell. They're excellent decoys. And Phoenixes seemed really toned down now. Not fair to those accursed Black Dragons that are soooo annoying!

Oh well it's all good. Definitely a lot of good things. The only thing I'm not quite satisfied with is the unit rosters... Oh well, on to playing Life (which I noticed is probably the second most overpowered town next to Asylum).

ONE QUESTION:
How come, all the heroes, maybe after week three, have different identities?

For example, I'd recruit Melodia within the first week, but 2 weeks after that, I see her face again in the Tavern but with a different name. I don't like this one bit. It kinda strips the classics out of their identity... u know like Crag Hack and Gem... geez. This is pretty much the case for eveyr hero.
