I don't see how one can compare the graphics of the two games, other than running them both on the same computer with the same settings.

The demos we've seen are compressed video streams that will not be able to capture all the details of the source. In addition, we have no idea what settings they used in the demo. It's quite possible they don't have everything at max to avoid lagging. We also don't know the resolution.

When it comes to screenshots, the same applies. But with still pictures it's even harder to represent 3D graphics in a good way.

Darkem didn't mean artistic tastes (notice there are no words like "beautiful" or "amazing" in his post), he spoke of a quality that isn't doubtable in this case. Map objects in "VI" are more complex than the ones in "VII". And it's a fact that will be proven finally after the release of "VII".

Exactly!

It's pointless to compare VI graphics to VII graphics as they are both vastly inferior to II and III

Quality is not smth that can be changed by point of view. I am not talking about style, only about execution. Look at the trees and say which one has more details and where number of polygons seems to be higher.
If you think it's H6 you've obviously never seen those trees up close:

To be honest, trees that look like plates don't appeal to me.

Look at Heroes 3 it's colorful too.
Heroes 7 in terms of visual betrays tradition.
So your complaint is that the palette isn't vibrant enough? I can get behind that I suppose, but other than that H7 is definitely a big step up, I mean at least the buildings no longer look like they're made out of modelling clay.

Load of bull, H7 is chock full of obvious detail, H6 has to rely on 'implied' detail because everything is scaled to the hero, and thus simplified. Take a look for example at the respective towns, Haven in H6 is a bunch of clay models, while Haven in H7 is far more detailed.

I don't know about H3, but they definitely are inferior to H2.

I don't know guys. My personal preference is to find everything on the map easily. I know that it was easy in Heroes 3, because it was 2D, and simply you could see everything. But I really hated Heroes V as I had to rotate the camera all around the find the pile of gold under the 3. My personal opinion is that we should not care that much about the proportions. It is a game, so don;t have to be realistic. And I can see now, that the trees are quite small, and I like it.  I know we can't go back and have it that simple as in 3 as the standards changed.

BTW, I never tried that and it is juts a feeling, but is the Large map in H3 vs H5,6 the same size? Not sure why I have the feeling that the H3 maps were bigger and there were more things to do in one "day".

i hope i am not that irrelevant but i took a peek at the resource bar and i have to say that although i am ok without sulfur and mercury and gems, what is going on with the sheer laziness of having the same shape of three out of 7 resources???????

I assume they're just placeholder graphics. Many of the game's graphics still have to receive the finishing touches or have yet to be created. You can see a few map objects from Heroes 6 in the Heroes 7 screenshots; I can only assume they quickly imported those to give some flesh to those screenshots, rather than to create the Heroes 7 version of those objects. They will come later.

why did they choose the older Unreal Engine 3, and not the newer and more powerful Unreal Engine 4?

Extrapolating the system requirements from Daylight (which uses the same engine), this game on Unreal Engine 4 should be able to run on a dual-core and a normal video card. so, there must be an explanation beyond the "it must play on most PCs"

if that's true, it would mean M&M series isn't a priority for Ubisoft, since they wont put much funding into it (not like Watchdogs or Assassin's creed)

Try comparing those games sales with Heroes...

And let's not forget H6 'fiasco' either.

Mind if I call those numbers bullsnow? The data for the older games are not accesable, and even for 50SoD look somehow wierd. As much of a bad game H6 was. I don't belive it did no sell even a 100k.
