Variable game mechanics settings (as in WOG)

Don't you think that would be awesome if ubi implemented an ability to chose from a great variety of mechanics options and allowed players to chose what they want in their games?
Some people would like creature stacks to gain experience - they could switch it on. Some want wandering monsters - they could switch it on. Some want racials - they could switch it on. Others solo wandering heroes - and they also could switch it on.
For me, ubi could release the game even in '16 or '17 instead of '15, but implement almost all the options players want to and allow them to choose between them. So that everyone could make Heroes the game they desired for all these years...

First of all, it is Limbic Entertainment that makes the game.

Second, it has been mentioned in the latest Q&A from Celestial Heavens that a revolutionary game editor is in the works for this newest title.

That's right, not a mere map editor, an overall game editor that will enhance the way you play MMH7 every time you get around at loading up the game. Pretty much like Civilization with the science research reserved to the Academy Faction(Wizards). Of course, the game will be jammed in the fantasy genre of the equivalent of our medieval era(Earth).

Because of this new Unreal engine, games will differ from each other so much that, the need to have a choice to make in military dwellings will become, rather crucial to each faction played onto every map.

This will not be your average and traditional Heroes game. Highly strategic and mostly tactical when it comes to battle mechanics.

My average Heroes game was strategic and tactical until H4 came up. Then even less interesting at the point that I didn't even buy H6. So when they say revolutionary, it could be as well utter crap, seeing that they have zero experience in making good Heroes games.

Am I the only one to think that your entire post makes zero sense as well?

Things you describe have no correlation each other, the quality of the editor has zero impact on loading the game or with Civilization wizard academy (wtf is that), and the medieval era no correlation with Heroes universe or with...earth, nor with the engine used.

Moreover, it does not address or answer to anything from the OP. I am puzzled.

Well it'd be fun, but would probably hunt multiplayer as there'd be nedless arguments over which setting to use for any one game. If you could limit it, to just a handful of changes that might work. The ability to have a greater level of control over what features random-maps have, that would be interesting (and in fact that was a good portion of the WoG functions were about IIRC).

Quite right, too many optional changes in game mechanics result in your dream single player gmes but messes up multiplayer because nobody can remember, adapt to and master that amount of alternatives each game.

And what if you had that countless options in mp, but only a few presets in Multi? These presets could represent certain playing styles. For example you could maybe have something like Roleplay, Realm-Building and Warfare presets for multiplayer, each of which carrying a fixed, fitting combo  of choices in various aspects. And in singleplayer you would be able to adjust those choices freely. This would also have the benifit that there would be "senseful" options to choose from, since probably some choice combos would work better together than others.

I'd say make major variability a map-editor (including RMG) product rather than a game-menu one.

Well, that would be possible as well, of course. But I still think some things as changeable options coudl be nice. Not as overdone as in WoG, maybe. (god, it was a HELL of options there, and some simply weird, iirc.)

What I dream of and I don't find in any game is possibility to reduce/delete redundant animations and actions.

Creatures moving/attacking instant on battle field, move instant on adventure map, and all those little things which do nothing good but eat my time.

Remember H3 pre-battle music, it was a 8 seconds wav to play before you could move. Unacceptable today. Things like that.

Actually, Civ5 got quick movement and quick combat, which most people use after they watch the same battle animations enough times.

About half the option in WoG were to do with inserting WoG objects into normal maps, and thus totally irrelevant in this game. there was also one page to do with boosting certain secondary skills, which can easily be written off as irrelevant.

@MattII - I don't say those should be the very same options as in WOG. I came up with the whole idea mainly because of wandering monsters and solo heroes movement are both controversial.
Allowing to switch them on and off would solve the problem.
The same thing is with other controversial features. If variable mechanics are introduced in the game, more people would be happy

Yes, it was.

But, this time around, do not think that will be part of the options within the random game generator of this game. R.G.G. for short instead of R.M.G. Will be a major gameplay change.

As for the multi player interface: The host makes the game and options and offers anyone else to join in. It'll be in the LAN type, even over the global internet.
