A tipp: In the heroes 3 and wog editor have an bug. if you pres the ground whit 4x4 ground title and scrolling down the editor make tiangules.

Drake, please can you revert to Era 2.55 then:
heroes3.ini, set these values:
Debug=1
Debug.DumpSavegameSections=1
Debug.Everything=1
Debug.LogDestination=File
Debug.LogVirtualFileSystem=0
When you save the game, a folder "debug" will be created? Can you zip/rar it then upload at wikisend.com, please? Will help to get the nature of the problem.

I switched back, but my .ini looks like this:
[Era]
CpuPatch=1
Debug=0
Debug.Destination=File
Debug.File=eralog.txt
Debug.VFS=1
FixGetHostByName=0
LoadCD=0
SavedGameExtraBlockSize=4000000
UseOnlyOneCpuCore=0
Kinda seems familiar to the problem, I don't see the lines-
Debug.LogVirtualFileSystem=0
Debug.DumpSavegameSections=1
Debug.Everything=1
Do I add them?

I get an error message saying:
Assert violation in file
"D:\Soft\Programming\Delphi\source\SRC\Era\EraLog.pas" on
line 131.
Error at address: $5313160.
Not sure, but I think the Heroes 3 HD mod from awhile back might have altered my Heroes3.ini

Please can you delete the added lines one by one and find which is causing the crash?
Or maybe is when switching back to 255 that got screwed?

It doesn't occur from switching to 2.55, but I'll try and locate whatever line is causing the issue

This line "Debug.LogDestination=File" is what causes that error at startup, I've tried it with a ton of different combinations

Era 2.55 still won't start and gives me the same error. Era 2.46 loads up fine with those settings

Seems like 2.55 update was not installed. Ok, does not matter, I'm planning to make a more playable update to install over 2.46. Should be ok then.
