LoL indeed, but your tragicomical examples aren't diverse enough to be comprehensive. In stead it provides me with a false impression of the actual situation.
I am certain the majority do not think they have such rights.

Seriously?

1. Why did they take the photos in the first place?
2. Why would someone store them on the internet? Didn't NSA taught anyone that nothing is safe? You got millions of dollars, you sure can afford a bigger harddisk
3. Why didn't they deny it? They could just have said they are Photoshopped and nobody would give a ****, they got hundreds of fake porn pics on the internet anyway

1- I already gave two possible reasons, sexting and obsession with/adoration of self-image. None is a crime, besides, they can simply say "none of your effing business."
2- It's the new way the technology leads you, it's not about not owning a hard disk, it's about storing things on the cloud where you can have access to them from all your mobile/desktop devices and keeping your smartphone/tablet etc light. Some people's settings are to automatically upload every photo to cloud storage for practicality.
3- Well, this may sound weird to (most of) you since you try to rationalize the act a lot but maybe they expect the responsible  people to be caught and penalized or maybe they are trying to turn it over into publicity or they know no one will believe they are fakes... Who cares?

That being said, accusing everyone who takes a look as being a contributor or accomplice is a little over the top. If you don't upload and distribute the pics yourself, it's hardly more mean spirited than taking a peak at a woman when the wind blows her skirt up and she's trying to cover herself. A little less reflexive maybe, but virtual world always feel lighter, nobody treats actual thieves who rob a CD store and mp3 downloaders the same.

The honest thing to do would be to say "yes, I know it's wrong but it's not exactly evil and I'm not perfect" instead of hopelessly trying to rationalize the situation by saying things like "they are very fit" or "they eat cows, do they ask."

Lost 30 mins of my life watching this.. amateur porn crap. It wasn't even arousing, it even made me yawn at some point. Well, publicity for the celebs, fap time for the fangirls. Everyone's happy.

If they were guys, we wouldn't even debate about:

Woman gets her naked photos hacked / Victim.

Man gets his penis photos hacked / Idiot.

If I took photo's of my penis and kept them on my phone.. I'd be a pervert.

Porn is degrading to women... Secretly makes her own porn.

no i mean when i saw "celeb pics leaked" i assumed there would be men, but newp. it stroke me as very weird since i exepected to see "celebrity girls" or smth, but now celebs=women, naked leaks=women etc. maybe it's all about the language that celebs doesn't define sex, but still...

Violation of privacy, sure. But at this point, I find it amusing that people are still surprised/outraged/incredulous/whatever when they put naked pictures of themselves on the internet in any capacity and then they become leaked. I think by now we need to realize that no place online is airtight. If you have pictures or other media that you don't want hacked/distributed/altered/pirated/leaked/whatever then keeping them off the internet is probably wise.

1. Both are immoral though
2. Technology is a two-edged blade, if it's new it doesn't mean it's good. And using basic logic you can deduct that uploading private photos on an online server isn't a good idea if you're famous and spied by the whole world.
3. The hacker was a 26-year old man who posted them on 4chan, if he's from outside of US, no thing is gonna harm him, the Federal Bureau won't go international for a small crime, no matter how famous are the "victims". So there may be 0% chances to catch him, if they denied it however, people wouldn't care, there wouldn't be a scandal and their reputation would be saved.

btw the videos were released too

1- Self-obsession can be considered shallow, primitive and repelling to a degree. (Not when super models take selfies though ) Other than that, there is absolutely nothing immoral about sexting or taking pictures of yourself. If anything is immoral, it's to judge people's private lives like that. And I really don't understand the logic how sleeping with your husband/lover is okay but sending or taking a naked picture is beyond limits, unless of course, you think sex is a sin when it's not exercised for reproduction.
2- You can't accuse people for not being prudent like it is a crime, you can only warn them and give them good advice. That should not be an excuse to blame the victim. Apple's servers getting hacked is not something you'd give high likelihood, do you use our e-mail or facebook account on alert all the time? Don't you have private data on them?
3- That's quite beside the point. They are not the ones who are supposed to deny a truth because they are not the criminals, here.

Society always judges, in fact setting certain limits will keep the society from collapsing. Ask random people on the street if they think that "sexting" is immoral, the majority will say "Yes". It's something enforced by the people. Also if they wanted to be 100% they won't be leaked, they would simple not make them. You can leak a pic or video, but you can't leak the intercourse. Also if sex isn't that taboo why are they angry if the pics were leaked? After all, most living things on the planet do it, it's just natural. So nothing to be upset about, right?

In Romania, we have a saying:"Paza buna trece primejdia rea", which translates to "The good guard will overcome the grave danger", or as in English "Better safe than sorry". Apple doesn't have a very good reputation (at least on the internet), also Iclouds weren't made for storing porn pics .

I don't have facebook and good luck finding personal info on one of my email addresses, they are all overloaded with spam (yeah, I'm lazy )

1- Sexting actually isn't much of a taboo, unless you live in some very conservative social circles. But since you automatically labeled it as immoral, I guess you are among such a circle. Your logic about "why feel embarrassed if it's normal" can't be more flawed, however. People go to the toilet and defecate every day, there's nothing that is a taboo, wrong or condemned about it. Yet, nobody would like to be seen by strangers while doing that, right? Same with sexting, it's between you and your partner, which doesn't slightly indicate that it's wrong.
2- iCloud was made for storing your private data, whatever that data will be completely relies upon the user. And it's the first time something like this ever happens (the cloud hacking part). Once again, I have nothing against playing it safe, but blaming people for not playing it safe is a little different.
3- Many things... It can even be a stand-up attitude: I didn't do anything wrong and I wont lie about it. Besides, there are fake photo experts anyway, if they are not fake, it will be known to the public sooner or later, better to tell the truth from the start than to look like a moron later.

Things like these need to happen in order for the security of online systems, in this case - clouds, to tighten up and improve. Otherwise, there would be no reason to have security mechanisms in the first place. Whatever happened happened, immoral or not. I'd rather see the celebs pounce on the fact and make use of it in their own agenda or ie pushing the boundaries of online security (for example, become spokeswoman/spokesman for an it product to attract more funding which in turn would lead to fewer future security meltdowns).

Uploading your naked picture in the Internet means that you either want someone to "accidentally" hack its storage and leak it or that you are pretty stupid. Either way, crying for injustice after that is not moving at all. The stupid got what they deserved and the exhibitionists got what they wanted. End of story.

I think that's taking the "they should have known better" approach way too far. iCloud is not exactly postimage.com, their phone may be easily on a setting that backs up everything to the cloud automatically and not everybody is a tech expert. Besides, ANYTHING you send through your phone, even without the internet is reachable, in theory. Let's go back to smoke messeges or training doves then, shall we?

Most people I know who use iPhones themselves look at the situation very emphatic. The world of Apple is not the world of constant virus threats and virtual arms races, if your system is legit, mostly you dont even think about these things.

If the phone backs something up somewhere without your knowledge, then you have valid grounds to sue the manufacturer, it's nearly identical to having a spyware on your device.

There is quite a difference between someone intercepting your messages when you send them over an allegedly secure channel and you putting something which you consider sensitive on a place, the security of which you can't verify - either because you lack technical knowledge or because you just can't be sure that some third party will protect your information as it advertises. In the first case you have spying, in the latter you have your naivety and stupidity paying off. Naked pictures count as something intimate, if I'm not mistaken, so if you put them just anywhere, you don't really value your intimacy all that much. So what's the problem?
