Voted Lineup 2 anyway.
Don't want no Unicorns with the Syllivan-Elves. There's a Unicorn Duchy (as well as a Stag Duchy), so I expect those beasts where they belong in Asha - with their Duchies and therefore part as a corresponding human lineup in the far future.

Yes!

But I rather have compromise suggestion. In the Balance line-up the Emerald Warrior and Unicorn might be assembled in one unit (Unicorn as a mount for the warrior) while in the Strength theyíll be separated units. And this still can be done considering the uncertainty whether the Emerald Warrior will ride something or not. Otherwise this question is redundant because the devs wonít change anything, especially replacing creatures. The line-ups are fixed and only way to get Unicorns in Balance is the one I stated above.

I still canít understand the arguments about the gameplay. We should pick the creatures we love not the strategy because the descriptions are too vague and insufficient. I guess the gameplay will be more defensive than H5 for all 3 line-ups. But Iíll stop here because this is for another thread.

My thinking is slightly different.

Actually, an absence of one creature or another does not influence me that much. Instead, it is the presence of something new, but not really imaginative or coherent with the rest, that sways my vote.

This being said if Emerald Knight is just another name for a Silver Pegasus (~Rider) I'm totally ok with it, we've seen it before. Nevertheless, yet another Elf with a different kind of weapon in the hand is a no-no.

Nope. I really like strength, but it is getting smashed over the last couple of days. One second it's leading the charge on 36%, 2 days later 25%. What happened? Did I miss something?

This was not a poll I had in mind when I started the feature showdown but the lineup is a very important aspect of the game. I want to determine how much the presence of an iconic unit can make or break someone's immersion. For that I have one question for you:

If the second lineup had the unicorn instead of the emerald warrior in elite tier, would you have voted it? For this question consider your actual vote irrelevant, whether it was strength of the forest, earth's perfect balance or sylanna's fury. Just consider the second lineup with the unicorns in them and tell me if you would have prefered it over the options we got.

i dont understand why do you like unicorns so much. its just a horse with a horn. nothing special about it. same goes for inferno's nightmare...

imho emerald knight will be 100 times better then unicorn. i couldn't be more happy about my vote.

No it's an iconic creature of the franchise.
I don't get this poll's statistic, with Phoenix + Unicorn in the same lineup I expected way more positive votes..

I actually think that if Ubi replaced those stupid not-riding-an-awesome-lynx emerald warriors with unicorns in the Balance lineup, it would get all the current votes from Strength. I would vote for Balance myself from the start if it was so.

Because H7 treant looks awesome And emerald warrior will most likely be just an elf in a green armour

Okay, you got me there It's just I think devs will not discard one of the few creatures that are in all three lineups.

i would love to see elf knights riding unicorns! i hope you are right about your guess.

one guy pointed out that lynx has a creepy humonoid head. i kinda agree that, unicorn would be better, both iconic and pretty.

The head could easily be changed to look more natural, it was just an early concept after all But now, unicorn, or at least someone riding an unicorn instead of walking elves is the best solution to please both Strength and Balance voters.

If Unicorns were in Balance I would vote for it. Unicorn and all other classical creatures are the most important for me in the line-ups. They can change their abilities and etc., but not keeping the iconic creatures ruin the whole game for me.

Why creature are more important:

Gameplay and creatures are not connected, you can have the Sylvan offensive or defensive with the same creatures. You can give them different stats and abilities. Thats why in developing the game creatures are first. You can have them alike in all the types of gameplay.

Actually, I say: What good are awesome Treants, if they are Champion?

Remember that tank units are very rarely - VERY RARELY - the key units in your army. There are numerous examples of this during game history (H3 Dwarfs, Golems, Zombies, etc. to give some examples). What tank units do is mostly just stand around absorbing damage, and while that can be useful, it's rarely what makes you win battles - at best, it'll make you survive a bit longer than you otherwise would.

H5 Treants worked because they were a tank with level 7 hitpoints which was not a level 7 unit. Had they been level 7 instead of dragons, I'm pretty sure majority of players would say this was a distinct disadvantage for Sylvan (which might not have been bad for balance, but that's another discussion and irrelevant here). For that reason, I think Treants will be better off as Elite instead of a rarely-if-ever-picked Champion.

Your post speaks the truth Vokial.
Phoenix's comeback is too appealing and much long awaited for me, I was hoping votes between Strenght and Balance would be close enough thus allowing community to request including both Phoenix and Unicorn under the same banner. So for now my vote stands for Strenght and Unicorn.

Your making good points here. Dragons/Phoenix as Champions and Unicorns/Treants as Elite !

Your argument would make sense if Treants were exactly the same as Champion or Elite units, which they won't be. I for one will pick Treants majority of the time, no matter what they make them to be.

Another counter-argument is that every Champion is tanky, and they will add something else to Treants for sure to make them useful, if not then they have failed already and will fail no matter what lineup we choose.

I think it's hard to say which one is better. We don't know that much about emerald warrior yet. It might be cool.
If we had to chose between the emerald warrior and the hunter (which is IMO more iconic), I would go for the hunter.
But I never liked the unicorn that much.
Anyway, I'm really a person of tradition, but I can't say I liked all the H1,2,3 creatures.
I think a change here and there is good. Just keep the overall feeling.

Add to that the fact that the Treant has an entangle ability which can outright force enemy creatures to attack the Tank only! The difference between elite and champion is that in that endeavor the tank has HEALING SUPPORT. I think that is of enormous value.

And that's just talking about abilities. Ofc the stats between an elite and a champion Treant would be entirely different.
