An adult democracy(200+ years old) doesn't need much cheating. It does have a lot though in manipulation, offering a choice when there is no real choice to be made to begin with.
To assume that playing Sylvan with slightly different characters is going to majorly affect their playstyle is stupid. Not that Ubi didn't metion this but just like in real democracy all the rambling, misinformed shouting and wishful thinking always results in major butthurt from all who didn't get their wish.
That is democracy as we know it.

Thank you.
Though I'm not sure how much faith I'll put in a pre-vote estimate.

I thought it was just Ubisoft we couldn't trust, but the Sylvan lineup proves we can't really trust majority rule either lol

It's not all bad, now we get to spread the blame around a little
Honestly though, the chosen lineup is but one of three equal evils in my book.

Idk, I'm somewhat disappointed by what people chose (stags and boring humanoids). Letting them choose again would lead to more mundane units, I guess.

What did people choose?

A fairy/flying humanoid  plus a plant being over one of those two and a plant snake.

A humanoid with two blades over a humanoid with a blade on a stick.

And a glowing cervine over a equine with a horn or a glowing bird.

Yeah, a real disappointment, there.

I didn't mention a tree man, because they all had it. So I grouped the bird with the equine and the cervine.

But shining chicken isn't elite - it's champion.
You could also say that people choose "a fairy/flying humanoid  plus a plant" over "a glowing bird".

True, you could mix and match all of them, and further expand.

To the point that one would say they chose between:

Shooty elf, magic elf, and a elf with two blades, aided by a fairy and a plant person, along with a glowing cervine, a tree man, and a big lizard that looks like a rock and some trees

or

Shooty elf, magic elf, and a elf with a blade on a stick, aided by a fairy and a snake plant, along with a glowing bird, a tree man, and a big lizard that looks like a rock and some trees

or

Shooty elf, magic elf, and a elf with a blade on a stick, aided by a plant person and a snake plant, along with a horse with a pointy thing on its head, a tree man, and a lizard that looks like a rock and some trees.

Pretty diverse line ups, if I do say so myself.
