H3 map design questions

Questions in no particular order:

1. How do you change the gender of heroes (i.e. if I want someone with Sorsha's bonus but a male portrait)? It seems to be greyed out for some reason.

2. What effect does setting each hero's patrol radius have?

3. How do you start heroes off with artifacts equipped from the get-go (i.e. not just in their backpacks but actually equipped)?

1) I don't really get what you mean.

2) Setting the patrol radius is self-explanatory, for example, you set a hero's patrol radius to 2, he will only attack the player if he
is within 2 squares, and if you set it to stand still, the hero in question will always stand still. Obviously this only works for A.I controlled heroes.

3) That is probably possible by using ERM.

1. Go to Tools -> Map Specifications -> Heroes, select your hero, and choose gender with radio box:

2. Herry almost explained it. It is the radius in which hero will move (not only attack). As he said, it works for AI only.

3. Go to Tools -> Map Specifications -> Heroes, select your hero, and then go to Artifacts. Click Add, and dropdown menu will appear to choose which artifact and where to place it:
