Though him freeing the demons will mean that Fortress and Dungeon aka Dwarves and Dark Elves must be in the game. I guess Academy should also be in since Wizards will try to make the prison world hold by enhancing the magic and of course Demons. So these 4 factions are a must.

What we need in the next game i believe is either a system of 5/4/3 or 4/3/2 or 4/4/2 units or sub factions. Whatever the setting of the game might be, lineups are always very similar. Having a game that puts a little extra (like increasing the number of Champions like the Heroes VII is doing) or adding level 8 creatures available only by the grail building and making the grail important are such mechanics.
Now, unfortunately, i think that even with heroes VIII we aren't gonna move forward in the story, since moving forward might be the exit from Ashan. Destruction by demons maybe put in some Nether destruction by sandro and poof, a new world begins.
Although, it seems like Ubisoft is trying to see what works for heroes and what not in the latest installment. Heroes VI tried but failed. Heroes VII is trying, we must wait and see what will get right and what wrong.

But it shall be a whole new story,with peoples wondering in a new island,after the whole peoples fought theyrselfs on the sea,and were looking for other,let's say that they found an island.This island actually,will have a name,and they'll find that they are not alone.Catherine Ironfist shall conquer the evil peoples of those islands,and shall help the good castles.
It's just an idea,but this is what i though

Actually, for those who are wondering, I put a tread with my idea of a story line and factions. The basic deal is-goodbye middle ages ! Welcome Victorian era !
