M&M: help a beginner understand what started this whole shabang
So, I've gotten a hold on the first M&M and I don't get it (too old for my more modern sensibilities) so I was wondering if someone could help me get started with understanding how the game works and operates.
I've created some characters but aside from that I don't know how to operate the game nor what any commands mean or do.

There is a relic of ancient times, which you must use before you run and during the game - it's called manual.

Well, I have tried the MM9 and didn't finish it. As well as MM6.
But that does not mean I won't try again. It is just some patience needs to be used to play them.
Is MM10 better in that?

I am finishing my playthrough of M&M X and all I can say is that getting used to it is quite easy. The only aspect of the game that may bother you is movement, which is grid-based, like in the first M&M games. Otherwise, this game feels like a modern RPG.

Well Corribus is very very old , so why don't you try to PM him kiryu?
You do mean the early installments of the series, i.e. Might and Magic I - V, right? I have only played VII and VIII. I can recommend VII as a decent game.

Got them from the gog-bundle so If I can't figure this one out it's no sweat: got a bunch more up to VII I believe. problem is that the general gameplay is very, very unintuitive for my Gamecube-era Nintendo sensibilities so It's really hard to both keep track of things and actually understand what the hell anything means.
Still, I wish to see where it all started so let's all keep it to M&M 1, guys.
EDIT: should I stream it? if I can that is.

Heh. see it as a snadbox to level up.. and then find an online manual. there is no shame in this. The game is made to the core for our age.
