An Apology
Hey guys
Good news first, I'm no longer depressed, and it's unlikely I'll get depressed again
Bad news, I was drugged to the gills and spent a lot of time high as a kite, confusing reality with my dreams. You can imagine how THAT went... if you can't, ask Elvin, he endured me with the patience of saints
PS: Forum is in bad shape, it will likely die soon. If I was calling the shots, I'd have at least the Wastelands moved to a discord server, but alas, Val apparently does not want a HC chat. Never mind that the VW is basically one big chat which leaves dumps all over the place which the Mods have to clean...
Anyway, sorry guys, mental breakdowns are nasty business.

Welcome back (although I don't know you).
I dunno how the HC forums are doing or how a lot of users believe it "should" be doing, but I can from my PoV say that I am surprised that there even is a forum, one that is alive I might add, for this genre given the amount of time that has passed.
Nevertheless, I am glad it is here.

Difference is, franchise is dead, absolutely no newcomers, mods handing in their sword by the dozens... This forum is OLD, but like the Ents, we are OLDER and getting older while no new blood comes.
I totally sound like Geny, but look at the tavern and the VW recently and say I'm wrong

are you sure you're no longer depressed, poly? because you sure are doing a lot of snowing. if you don't like the direction it's going, then help to change it's direction; don't just snow about it. be proactive. at least on a forum, you can make a difference.

I AM proactive, actually suggested discord to the big bad ones.
this ain't snowing
and I'm not invested enough in the forums to care beyond pointing out flaws.
If I were still depressed, I'd have reopened my old thread. Rest assured IRL I'm better than ever.

Well, I don't entirely disagree but I still show for more than HoMM and I think there are plenty of others that are doing the same. I think of HC as a sort of rebel hide-out or possibly...a "Den of Thieves"

I take offense to that, good sir! I never once said this forum is going to die. I personally think it will outlive most of us. And I made it my personal goal to be there when Val turns off the lights. Standing. Watching...
