So, there's a quite interesting game coming out next year. A rather novel approach on the honor genre, playing the role of a damned soul trying to escape from hell while being assaulted with gruesome imagery, devils and naked demon babes . As a fan of Dante Aligheri's Divine Comedy I find the grotesque environment to be quite creative, gore porn is present because hell duh, but the whole organic feel it has seems rather imaginative. If you don't have the guts to play it, don't worry, there will be guts scattered everywhere.
I watched the 15min gameplay with a buddy, it has a very strong amnesia vibe to it, but then you can take control of demons as you progress, so idk how that affects the dynamic of the game or the horror aspect.

I think that you will alternate between possessing demons and tormented souls, the first being more scarce, so you should be more careful with dying while controlling a demon. Even so, I doubt that possessing a demon will turn the game into Doom, but rather give you a way to fight back in some situations.
