Come now Gandalf... nobody is naive enough to believe that... not now at least. Maybe when the whole shebang started, but not now.
Governments around the globe have to admit to one of two possibilities. They are either criminally inept, or they are using the virus to see how far they can push things.
That said, Canada is a special case. Many other countries had far more deaths from COVID-19. I personally know dozens that got infected, and more than a handful that died from it. Most of them would be fine with the seasonal flu.
