Poll Question: Best Motörhead Album
Right, so let's see whether this is fun.
Name your favorite Motörhead album. I looked at 11 youtube videos ranking Motörhead album. I gave points to the 5 best ones in each one, so we have a ranking from that, Overkill being the general favorite to snows, ranking on 9th place. Note that these are not MY 9 favorite Motörhead albums, although my favorite one is among them.

I somewhat sympathize with that answer, since I usually struggle to rank stuff. The interesting thing with Motörhead is that their later albums are actually quite brilliant, as opposed to most (but not all) others who run out of steam eventually, pauses between albums get bigger and bigger and the efforts get less and less relevant.
Seeing that the youtube rankings mostly go the direction of placing the early stuff highest - Bomber, Iron Fist, Overkill, Ace of Spades - with a couple of exceptions, I wondered whether other guys think that the 21st century albums are on par.
As a P.S.: I misread my notes and "Overnight Sensation" should have featured as well in 5th or 6th, since two guys ranked that highest.

Each of them have their strengths and weaknesses, so it's obviously fairly difficult to "rank" them. And mostly at the end of the day, the list is just someone's subjective opinion.
I feel like some of the other old heads, like Maiden in partcular, just try to stick to what's their "sound" and churn out consistent stuff that the fans like. In Maiden's case, not a lot of people crap on Bayley era, when compared to something like Metallica fanbase, who pretend certain albums do not exist. I feel that Motorhead falls into the same category as Maiden. They had their sound, and gave the fans what they wanted.
Out of 2000s onwards, my favourite may be the 2011 one, The World is Yours, solely because of "Brotherhood of Man". The riffs are great, lyrics are awesome as well, and Lemmy's vocals on the studio version are just ice.
Other songs in the album are nice too like "Get Back in Line", but "Brotherhood of Man" is the one that is standing out of it.

In my opinion Inferno is the best album because all songs are at least very good. No weak point, killer production, fantastic bass playing, great soloing efforts (the solo often getting its own rhythm (bass line) backing.
That said, I think that all the albums after that are pretty good as well, especially Aftershock and Bad Magic being surprisingly good.
As a PS - I never liked Iron Maiden - didn't like that THAT kind of metal attitude and couldn't stand Dickinson's voice. I generally have an aversion against what is called "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" - which seems to be true for Lemmy as well, mind you, and I can understand why he was continually stating they'd play ROCK'N'ROLL. On the Inferno album Life's a B!tch is a rock'n'roll song, while Smiling Like a Killer is a punk song.
