Remaster/Remake of Heroes 5
I have seen a thread about a remaster of Heroes 5 over at steam and I wo wonder, what would you guys think about a remaster or even a remake of that game?
Personally there are some aspects, like line-ups, where I would welcome big changes but then again I am not sure if Ubi could even manage that.
Also, it would be a total NO if I would need anything but Steam to play it.

Just take a look at the H3 remaster (Heroes 3 HD) that Ubi released a few years ago.

I would welcome a remake since I disliked the original game's hideous graphics and clunky mechanics ever since it came out.

Zaio gets it. Ubi just wants to make a quick profit with next to no work - At best you'd get slightly updated visuals with the game as it was. Modders can and have done better for free. The hrta guys have a 4k unit resolution mod and the details are glorious. There is a serious amount of visual and gameplay mods, some of which are a massive departure from the 3.1 gameplay.
Ubi can keep its grubby paws away from this series, we already have better content than they could ever bother to make.

I can't wait to pay AAA price for a game from 2005, now with more bugs than ever before, missing 2 factions, and without the ToTE mechanics that made it great in the first place!

To the point of this thread, a remaster would provide no value to Heroes 5, but a remake might. It just depends on the scope. Smarter AI, improved performance, better graphics? It would be a start, although some mods already do that. More content like factions, spells, map objects? Sure, but why not make a different game at that point?
I'd be in favor of a remake if it was ambitious and introduced new stuff, but I doubt that would be the point to them. They'd just want a quick cash grab for as little effort as possible. We don't need that.
