Eh I just drop by a couple of times a year out of morbid curiosity.
I guess it kinda depends on your definition of dead.
We probably all think of different times when we felt this place was at its most active and/or fun.
All i can tell you is that my experience here was mostly one of boundless youthful joy, forum shennanigens with friends and overly idealistic discussion with the perceived less idealistic hahaha.
The different forums were really active with all sorts of people and everyone was just being cool and vibeing.
And while you certainly didn't have to love everybody or get along with everyone, it was all in good fun and with mutual respect at the end of the day. You know, just being a good person overall or at the very least letting who you perceived to be morons be (unless they said something really stupid which would have me come riding in more often than not out of nowhere trumpets blazing announcing my righteous cause hahahaha)
And really the people here were just snowing stellar company. I wish them all the very very best.
So yeah to me this place died a loooong time ago. But that's okay. I won't love it any less. And enough people seem to have found some sort of joy in what came after.
The time it has given me and the glorious, glorious morons i shared it with will stay with me long after Val takes the servers offline.
Just went down the rabbit hole of looking at some old threads. snow me we were an amazing community. Just as an example this gold nugget you dont get that sort of thing without being a really big and healthy community.

What a crazy! Adrius and his team left us.. At least Adrius is alive in London.. But we've artu, JJ, fred, Sal, G and DD.. Elvin and Cellie never participated discussion in OSM..

I don't consider myself as an "old-timer", but I check new posts every few days. This is the deadest that the forum has been for as long as I remember though.

Do you know why? Dry persona stays here! At least we are the last known HC members.. But who? Impossible knowing..

Dry persona lives longer time.. Chance? No.. The parties die earlier, thus heroin, AIDS, etc They aren't HoMM players! A good example of Adrius, Galatea, etc

I had a coffee induced insomnia last night, ended up watching Duel Tourney replays on youtube till 4am and now I can't remember why did I ever stopped playing.
Nice to see some familliar faces it's been years since I gave a thought about this place and it feels trippy being here now. Wait, am I finally asleep?

Hello. I simply forgot my password and had to create a second account. The other account was linked to an e-mail which is already deactivated, so I couldn't recover anything.
And since Val disappears not leaving anyone in his wake to take care of these issues, I followed Galaad's suggestion of creating another account.
I just felt like peeking here and check how you all were doing.
P.S.: also not sure if I can be considered old? Since 2015 it's marginally fair, I reckon.
