Poll Question:
Pathfinding

I think some doesn't use a Pathfinding, because green boots in the HotA, or Air matter. How? Some is using only one hero Ok my favourite adventure skill is a Pathfinding. I always picked up! Do we've a debate and discussion here? At least H4 showed Hexis used only speed troops, but archmage Bohb with Green boots, bard  Agraynel has Pathfinding skill, and barbarian Dogwoggle has Pathfinding too.. Useless many owned the same skills.. But Hexis thought tuned and OP heroes

Pathfinding can be pretty good at the beginning of a map, however it is made completely useless by Expert Fly, Angel Wings and Wayfarers Boots!
I would much prefer to have Air Magic over Pathfinding and never both.

I guess my opinion is neutral.

The probability of getting fly and angel wings on a custom map is 0,0001, just in case unskilled mapmaker forgot to uncheck somewhere.

So it remains on snowty random maps, but who plays them, only virgins

Pathfinding is valuable on maps with time limit, or with quests with time limit. And I agree, is good early game where timing is the key, especially if you start in hard to move area and with wrong town.

And of course in MP, because those middle buff areas are sand and many players play with one hero only, so movement optimizing chain is not possible.

In the RoE, I played without Logistics and Pathfinding, because I've found Logistics artifacts are faster and very common, but later on I noticed that I needed more speed also my old Leadership and Luck skill replaced Logistics, so I kept Logistics was a great value, when it took faster time. I bought expansion, I started to use a Pathfinding. You know expansion gave and taught too much Pathfinding.

Yes twitch showed that random JC map, so they are virgins or one meat, thus five heroes against Hexis, etc The last campaign said time expires is 4 months, and then Pathfinding helped to collect Vampires fast, when of all the monsters and went through the map, so five heroes with hundreds Vampires, it after can go to against Hexis, but I don't need a Vampire, so I beat the map in one month without chain, etc So I've many disagreement.

Chain can use a Angel Wings, for example, because if you don't have a Scouting or Air, you can't reach a scout hero, otherwise scout hero runs away, escape by using against monster, and then surrender or TP. So only one hero is fun. Ok HotA made a Diplomacy artifact, think about it. Depend on mapmaker has an idea. Remember AI is very stupid never chase your scout or many "main" heroes, when speed is needed. The run is hard in the hot seat, etc When your task is kill heroes and conquer towns, so you gain a experience and power than planning, so I haven't time to search a Angel Wings, except for always Angel Wings, etc are in the same place by mapmaker, but you know also where are towns, etc Random map isn't bad.

Even if my Elite III map said/claimed that Pathfinding is useless by antagonist. True or false! Remember using a View Earth and scout heroes, so the same matter map by mapmaker "thinks" cheat to players. A normal random map, you always need a Pathfinding, for example.

Pathfinding is almost entirely map/template dependent. It's a lot like navigation in that way. If you're playing on a map or template with a lot of snow, desert, or swamp then it's really good until you get fly and/or DD, which won't be for most of the game. A few really good heroes start with it too, like Corkes and Gretchin.

It really depends. If your opponents are Fortress and Tower you will most likely need it. If everyone is on grassland you can skip Pathfinding.

If everything is connected by roads, pathfinding is useless, but I don't play such maps.

I wouldn't recommend Pathfinding for main heroes for the most of time, but for secondary heroes, it can be a super helpful skill. Whereas there are artifacts and spells that can come into play and deny the movement penalties, I wouldn't count for them to be found on the map, and it can usually be much simpler to use native terrain troops only when you have to take steps with main hero. In the best case scenario, you have a secondary "wingman" hero with Pathfinding, that drags the non-native army with him.

What do you think about nerfed Angel Wings? To remove terrain movement penalties, but we don't make Fly spell changes, when/thus spell costs. Maybe many players accept the "rule".

In the WoG, what?

Pathfinding raises the hero's minimum daily starting movement.

Basic: equivalent to unit speed of 6.
Advanced: -"- 7.
Expert: -"- 8.



But I play with Pathfinding, when I can play well or I can't play without Pathfinding. A problem! Some an Earth We know Phoenix4ever restores a map, maybe you too.. I left guarded hero in a town or else Armaggedon.. Now I try to your game philosophy with.. So hard! Why not mapmakers do Seer's Hut? Angel Wings for something bonuses.. At least Tocath!?!?

First game: Hero got a Pathfinding offerings in two times, but hero rejected and got a Artillery, and then Water.. What's the wrong: Warlock 16lvl with Wisdom, Learning, Earth, Artillery, Water, Archery and Air are broken skills.. Another Warlock 9lvl with Wisdom, Intelligence, Fire and Armorer.. No easy in the WoG.. You know Difficulty Mod by RerryR, AIs attacked everything neutrals very fast.. AIs are arrived my territory in 2 months in Giant size.. AI has 20-49 Giants, and then you know throng (100-249), etc plus mil. stats over 25.. And you love the game?!? At least map hasn't road.. I've a two towns.. Fire Warlock with Armageddon, but bought all creatures When AI has arrived, my slow heroes, etc I planned go to underworld.. Soon, two portal is waiting my heroes.. I don't go to snow, rough, etc

EDIT

The game crashed! Second game I got two alternative First Aid or Pathfinding.. Time wasted! Elementalist 22lvl Wisdom, Earth, Intelligence, Learning, Air, Offense, Water and Archery.. Now's Pathfinding ruined 6 Diamond Dragons, 3 Crystal Dragons, 21 Phoenixes, and other doomed Elves, Strom Elementals and Silver Pegasi with Speed of Boots.. When I built speed and strong creatures.. Ok not pictures or Third game.. Thanks!
