The topic previously discussed made me think about something., Do we have examples of good virtuous musicians which are in bad physical shape? For example really fat
drummers and singers don't count for evident reasons
People in good level orchestras that play hard instruments seem to be almost always in OK physical shape even in countries where overweight is the norm such as the USA

Becoming "really fat", outside rare medical conditions is a sign that you lost control over your life. It doesn't marry well with the discipline required to perform anything at high level, music or anything else. And is often the result of a sedentary and inactive life, which is incompatible with the main routine of a good orchestra (30-50 hours of weekly rehearsals, public and television exposition, yearly tours abroad, group photos for publicity and so)

Yeah musician's job that lasts for only one night, maybe true, when Sal sleeps in 3-4 hours.. A good job!
