War machines as rewards?

In my map, I wanted to place one Seer's Hut near the starting towns, where it would be possible to buy a First Aid Tent and another Seer's Hut where you could buy a Cannon, but war machines does'nt seem to be available as rewards in Seer's Huts?

They does'nt seem to be rewards in Pandora's Boxes or Events either.

I wanted it to be a one-time possibility, so placing a War Machine Factory and a Cannon Yard is not an option...

Now that you say it, it's kinda weird that you cannot have them just being given to you under event or such, especially when talking about the original game. In Hota I don't believe such feature even coming to the game, since we also have Cannon there as well. What happens when player would have Ballista, and the event will give Cannon? Interface don't currently support such thing, and would probably be quite the hassle to implement.

However, the map making thing we can solve: quest gate requiring something that let's the player pass only once such an artifact, and the Ballista yard in the next tile.

Yeah good point about ballista and cannon. I think HotA should have made a new slot for the cannon instead, also so AI does'nt end up with "the wrong war machine", but I'm not really convinced adding a better war machine (cannon) was a good idea in the first place, it makes all the ballista specialists look pretty stupid.

There should definitely be a way to add war machines as rewards though.

If they treated war machines like artifacts problem would solve itself.

I wouldn't mind some artifact war machines that you could replace the basic ones. Would hugely improve war machine skills without breaking the game.
