Question about starting heroes
If you, on a map, give each town two starting heroes, is it somehow possible to define which of them is going to be the main hero or the one you select when starting the map? (They both start in level 1 with default skills and army.)

Yes, but not with the normal map editor. The heroes that are shown in the map selection screen in-game are indeed defined by the map file, and can be edited to be whatever you want, even imaginary heroes that don't exist in the map. I used this in one of my maps before, but I haven't updated my command-line editor in quite a while.

Hmm okay, so it's not possible with the normal map editor.
