The benefits of not being able to react to a post with an emoticon

Soooooo,
It's so weird not being able to react to your posts with emoticons without having to add a comment - if there was no wastelands I'd have to spend time coming up with a witty and engaging reply (that may include emotes) rather than a lazy facetypething to show you I am smiling right now.

I missed it for a minute and nearly made this post a plea for Val to add this feature.  Then I realised that maybe the real shame is the lack of real interaction that having "likes" can induce , and remembered that in the wastelands I can just make my thoughts into a whole new thread so I don't kill that one by scaring everyone away haha!!!

So what do you guys think - should we take the time to write an engaging reply (cause non-engaging is a delete in the tavern) rather than just reacting with a lazy face picture?  Is one awesome reply better than counting the number of emoticons we get as reactions to posts (I would say yes - unless it's Elvin heckling me about being a thread killer so I'll show him and just keep making new threads haha and really just kidding).

Funny thing is that I don't react with emojis that often at all. I mostly write a small reply. I like using emojis in Celestial Heavens forums, though, because the smilies there are much cooler, almost like specific added body language, rather than generic things.
