Its a funny ole game...this heroes

What is it for you???

4 me...

 1. To be totally out played by a wise strategy.

There is nothing more enjoyable than a challenging opponent
who teaches you new ways of losing...just so the experience
can be returned to the next opponent.

 2. Staying up ...way later than you should.

Gotta love the scratchy eyes and yawning at work the next
day because it was all worth while with another nail biting
win from a few hours earlier...replaying the moves you did'nt make but should've and did make but should'nt ave.

3. Cleaning the house , doin the dishes and laundry

Its ok to play during the day as long as you do  what you gotta do between turns to keep the ruler of the house happy

4. Playing old friends.

Where the game result seems less important than catching up with whats been going on since the last time you guys played.

5. Making new friends.

Where the game is important and all is a mystery...what is he/she doing , how good are they and where are they?
Oh no! there they are...rite at your castle...why didn't you see them get there??? Moving them into the above (4)

6. Drinking beer!

Ok bad idea...does not mix well with playing...but does
seem to help with feeling better about losing

7. Playing loved ones...
Showing your 5 yearold the game and being amazed just how
good he gets...lucky its co-op

 Please....whats heroes for you??

Please....whats heroes for you??

Referring to TOH or the like.

Unfortunately for me it's 2-6 hours of time wasted when the "new guy" your playing says "I have to go now!" or just at the crucial point in the game he bails out on you with not so much as a by your leave.
Then you spend  the next week or so chasing after him and sending emails all over the place.

In the end is it really worth it?

Playing good friends and worthy opponents is all well and good but sometimes there is no-one around and you must play a newbie or unknown player, sure check his stats first, but I've checked stats and played supposedly fair players only to be left with the sour taste of betrayal 4 hours down the track!!!

Sadly I played one season and reached Captain, which I enjoyed thoroughly, but after that lost interest due to the H-u-g-e amount of time needed only to be stiffed by some sore loser!

As for fun games I still enjoy games with anyone, if they bail out as you are about to kick their arse, you get the last laugh heh heh.......

Hello again ol' friend,

I was wondering about you and about to email you when Destro told me you were posting on this board.

Good to see you are doing ok.

I will be out east late this summer.

Maybe we can play a hotseat game while the women take the kids out to the park or whatever.

My email is mhaines@indy.rr.com

Nice to see you around, Rich.

Welcome back Prometheus

Good chess players make good heroes

But it looks like the only way to play you might be like
Mocara says...hotseat  (where the west meets West in the east?)

Here's to the perfect combo's

Finding Chain lightning and the pendant of negativity.
Finding Orrin the golden bow and a couple archery artifacts.
Finding Dessa the boots and gloves.

Personal favorites

Hack or Gundula and inferno.
Alamar giving it up earlier.
shackles and summon with a magic hero.
Making fire magic work for you AFTER you see your 'crappy' fire filled guild.
Making some useless skill worthwhile.
Getting to other dude before he is ready.
Taking your time and getting completely ready while other dude is wasting time wondering what your doing.
Making time an ally.
Seeing your new strategy on your new favorite map beat the crap out of your favorite opponent.
Having favorite people online and making this weird wacked world of heroes very worthwile.
Playing guitar, listening to music and winning a tough game.

Last resorts:

Losing a main hero and searching through the tavern to find him.
Digging 15 holes in a general area cuz you know you have no chance at winning this one without the grail.

"Hate this retarded game I am never playing again."

Seeing any of the perfect combos or favorites available on the map and watching an opponent rip your heart out with it.
Hotkey mistakes like: hitting the 'A' in battle and watching the computer immmediatly cast armageddon... but your tower and all the troops die.  hitting 'D' in week3 day 1 when have something important to do-but no there goes your main digging a whole.
Seeing players start idiotic fights with each other.
Seeing 3do delay release dates.

um. i could type for another 30 minutes. but ill stop here and do it again later.
