Since when we play could be rare, and I have a few question's of my own I opened this thread.

1: Is tactic's accumulative between 2 heroes?
2: Is there accumulation from 2 or more tresuries?

For all skills, the hero with the most powerful skill when both heroes have the same skill, is the one that has influence.

I think treasuries each give 10% of the money you have at the end of the week, so if you have two, you'll have 20%. It's not that when you have two, the second gives intrest on the money at the end of the week plus the intrest of the first treasury.

Treasuries give money on a daily basis (not weekly). Counted in a week it's 10%, but the rate is actually applied daily. Each treasury gives the same amount.

Just click on the Treasury and you will see how much money it gave last day. (left clicking and right clicking gives different information.)

Yes, I take your word with treasury

I kind of figured but was not sure. There seem's to be a realm of acumulation questionability.
Scouting is no quesiton. It is not accumulative.
Tresury is
I imagine it's pretty gay having 2 heroes with tactic's for no reason!! That's garbage.
Heroes split all exp right? I know it's like that with some thing's. Probably fight's huh? That's no good either.
If that's the case then creature's should drain there part of exp

You get the best value for Scouting. So place Scouting artifacts on the Scout and not on another hero.

Place them in two different armies. You do have some use of them because you get the best value from each subskill. Tactics skill from a hero applies only as long as the Hero is alive. So if one dies you still get the bonuses from the second.

They split, but higher level heroes get a proportionally bigger share of the XP. Also be aware that only living heroes at end of combat gets XP, a good reason to have two Heroes in most armies. Only exception being if you take a Town, because in that case the hero gets Ressurrected before XP is awarded and so also gets XP.

You really need to give the Heroes XP based on what the army does. Otherwise, you would never be able to develope Heroes without Combat. You can perhaps give magic Hero XP depending on spells cast, but how would a player develope a Nobility or a Tactics Hero? Without Combat: one hit and the hero is dead at lower levels. Without: Melee/Archery the damage they would deal is measly.

Strictly speaking this is not really a Homm4 question, it's a question about the patch.  I downloaded the 1.03 patch saturday (took me almost an hour), I installed it and launched the game.  These are my remarks, please review.

- The good:
 * movement shadow/hex grid -> ah, at last...
 * music plays much more smoothly which is great also
 * game doesn't slow down and crashes anymore after extended gameplay -> major fix

- The bad:
 * the music still seems to halt at certain points when loading, howcome?

- The ugly:
 * the game still crashes at the end of battles sometimes, when I leave my pc for let's say an hour or more and then come back I find the game crashed too every now and then.  The music is still playing, the map animations still work, but the mouse and the keyboard are blocked and the pc needs to be reset.

What the hell is the problem?  I'm running the original game with the correct patch on a 1.2Gh Athlon Thunderbird with 256Mb ram and a Geforce 2MMX 32Mb ram using Win98.  If that doesn't meet the minimum requirements, then what?  I'm getting pretty sick about this, having to reset every two or three hours, as far as I'm concerned 3do has released a pretty uncomplete patch.  Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problems, can it be fixed?

My opinion of your opinion.. DOnt worry, I'm not the type to offend intentionaly.

I think the field hex is crappy. I like the mouse shadow though.

I totaly agree with the music thing. Finnaly able to hear ChAOs without not getting through it.

Um, mine only crashed like 3 time's in the past month.
Once my screen messed up after I exited, you know? I do wish they fix that up. My computer crashing is a ego killer. I hate people saying "what's wrong? eHEehh" LmTAO
You get the point

TO Djive : Why does units of the IA often stike my units in the back ? Was there a kind of Backstabbing speciality or something like this ? I don’t think so, but perhaps the developers decided to remove it just before the release…?

Well, it depends if you want to make the map available *here* or just available.  If you want to make the map available *here*, I'd suggest copying someone else's link - you can do that by finding a message which provides a (working) link to a map (in the message, not the .sig) and choosing "Quote Reply" - copy the active part out of the text box and then cancel the reply.  Now you can amend the URL (and text) as appropriate to wherever you've been able to put your map ...

If you want the map to go up some place like MapHaven, you need to get someone to playtest it first (after you've tested it, of course) - MapHaven accepts maps via webform, and there will then be a details page permanently assigned to your map, even before Cremorn or I have examined and approved your map.  You can then share that URL.  

Celestial Heavens accept maps by email - again, it must be playtested before it goes up, but they will find people to playtest it for you if you like.  I've just seen their head playtester making acid remarks about mapmakers who don't supply valid email addresses, however.

I have a scenario question: in the scenario named "Search for old heroes". the last hero that you have to find is past the 50 dragons and 30 mantis? And if yes, how do you manage to beat them, because I haven't been able to muster enough troops for this purpose.( on higher levels of difficulty, of course).

What do you mean by hex grid and movement shadow?  I don't recall that being in the manual.  

I think that I recall previous HOMM games where you could see a lay out of the hex grid on the combat or movement map and also tell where that creature could move (or attack).  But I've seen nothing in HOMM4 to say how to activate such a grid.

You're right.  H4 doesn't include this, but after applying the 1.03 patch you can activate it through the options link during combat.

Another question concerning the ward spells: Can steal all enchantments steal away order ward from troops?  Does nature ward prevent phoenix from resurrecting (before the whole stack dies)?  I haven't been in these situations yet, but it'd be nice to know if they occurred.

Then a H2/Kings bounty question, doesn't belong in this tread really, but I didn't know where else to post it.  The other day I was checking some things out in the H2 map-editor.  I gave myself a nice army of ghosts and launched the map.  After the first battle however, the ghosts were gone and I had an equal number of peasants instead, crap!  I recall the same thing happened to me once when playing KB.  Is this a bug of some kind or have I been sniffing too much glue again.

Sheesh, I was mad until I knew this from you! Your saying an actual shadow? SO you dont have to move around to look for cursor changes? WhOA SwEET! .
Up there I though you meant *cursor shadow & hex grid* that I got with the v1.2 patch

1: When town gate is casted, besides summons do animated dead people stay on the field? (What a duo. Death and order)

windmills etc.

In HOMM4 there are various map items like windmills which give you quantities of resources (e.g. wood, sulfer, etc) and then say that they will give you more each week for your protection (or something like that).

In HOMM3, I think that you had to go back and visit these sites to collect the weekly tribute.   I've been stationing stacks of one dwarf to do the collection, but nothing becomes available.

Have they changed things so that the weekly tribute is automatically deposited into your account?

I haven't checked but would say it's abug if they stay. Another Q I'd be interested in is... How is Experience assigned when Town gate is used in battle?

I don't know. There can be some strategical value in doing so. And yes, it may have been something that was in but was cut away.

Hopefully, they'll add it. And I'd say this is a Patch wish. Can't believe they left it out.

Resources? It's changed. You get them without collecting them now. I've feeling a part of the reason is that these resource places remove the shroud for Fog of War. And they needed more of those shroud-removing buildings or too much of the map would be in the Shroud.

Okay.. I found out in HC that  Illusions and phantonm images dont leave the battle field (still dont know with raise skeleton's, animate dead)

Also in HC i found out EXP is not earned after casting town gate
