I have HOMM 1. It is quite fun, and, in my opinion, it has better graphics than 2. Since there are no secondary skills, just build your mage guild, and any hero will learn the spells. I like Sorceress, because their heroes have high knowledge and they get Phoenixes. Phoenixes + Lv. 3 Mage Guild with Armageddon + Hero with 6 Knowledge= Go into battle, always act first, cast Armageddon, and destroy the rest with Phoenixes.

The graphics are almost the same...2 bad that tactic was nerfed in H3.

Quote: People, don't tell me nobody knows any good tips/strategies/etc. for HoMM1 anymore!
It's too long ago.
Well, I like to rush opponents.
Forget about dragon and armageddon. All those much cheaper troops like wolf, champion and even hasted paladin can reach your enemy in the first round. By the time the AI build the dragon, it would have been crushed. Btw, even barbarian and knight can learn high lv spells in h1. Anyway, I like might hereos more in h1

Oh, yeah! H1^^
I have a neighbour-connection for this kind of games his brothers are aged between 20 and 30, so they got many of ye olde games
SOme time ago i borrowed H1 from them, they dont play it often and we see each other nearly every day so its no prob
After reading this, I should propably play it again the next days or so... I saw a pic of the phoenix and i loved it The drag looks kinda sissy btw ;>
I like the "pueblo" the horse tied to the fence and the ogre having his siesta on the wall

You downloaded the *entire* site? I guess that explains why my bandwidth usage rose sharply the last few days.
If you're planning to keep the files, please recall that they came from my site, okay?
