not necessarily...if they can captrure a order town first....then they can just build university and learn order magic.  Afterward if they change classes, it should be easier to learn.  It will come in handy.

This "Chaotic Strategies" Forum has become a Black Dragon VS Hydra and How Am I Going To Win Using Order Magic With A Chaos Hero thing. I few that the discussions here are PLAIN THEORY and can be easily rebuted when another person offers his or her views. This argument is not really getting anywhere.

Since different people have different opinions, it is extremely difficult to reach a conclusion where most people can accept. To end such an neverending argument, I suggest the parties involved in this argument arrange to play a multiplayer game (Hopefully all of you are living in the same continent) for example, 3 times. This will then prove whose strategies work the most often and with a real game, you can stop all these empty talk as well.

The problem with this argument is that everyone assumes they are in an ideal environment where they can get anything they wanted and assume the opponent are going to sit around waiting for their doom. Most people forget to think about what your opponent might do when you use your "sure-win" strategies. Never underestimate your carbon-based human opponents or your silicon-based AI, especially at higher levels.

I apologise if I had offended anyone with my opinions. I thought this section should be an area where people share their own strategies where others read and enjoy and decide for themselves whether the strategies are good or bad after a try-out, not like now where people are desperately trying to refute others' strategies, erupting into an intense argument for a few different views.

Your points are most valid. But still, ranting mindlessly and theorizing is fun, no?

So, how would chaos do against nature?

It doesnīt matter if black dragon defeats 2 hydras with strategy "strike and run". Simply because on battlefield you cannot waste precious time with flying instead fighting. Hydra could be attacking your other troops as well or your dragon could be targeted by some heavy archer. Such situation as Dragon only versus Hydra only is very rare (after everyone died).

I donīt vote for Hydra or for BD because I am allways building what comes first. I donīt want to wait to build second building more than few turns if I can build first one. It all depends on resources. If I get my 4-th lvl creatures first then itīs logical I will have them more. And NUMBER is what determinates victor of the final battle.

I agree, it does not matter. However, Black Dragons do not have to use strike and run - not that it matters.

Nasty one

Hi.

Medusas are great when combined with Confusion, and Mana Flare.

For example, if battle is close to end, enemy has lots of very strong melee creatures, and you have sorcerer + medusas, you can't really lose. Assuming that medusas > 5 :-)

Hydras and Dragon

Assuming enemy has no dispel/cancelation, you can enchant Hydras with Slayer ! Devastating level1 spell

If not slayer, then First Strike, Cat Reflexes, Bloodlust. I can't enchant Dragons. When I have exact amount of Dragons and Hydras in my army (2 hydras per 1 dragon), hydras are much more deadly because od their enchantments. All spells dragons can benefit from is misfortune (when cast on enemy), and so can mighty Hydra.

Neither can your enemy.

I could say it depends on the map and resources, or one's combat tactics, or even the opponent's alignment.

I could, but I won't.

Because Black Dragons are the meaning of life!

Dragons can't be enchanted

Yes, it depends on alignment. Only alignments that are really hurt by dragon's magic immunity are in my opinion Death and Order.

Also Nature, if one goes for Faerie Dragons.

Does Aura of Fear ( Death spell ) work against Blackies?

No Black Dragons cannot be affected by any magic including aura of fear. As Vlaad said, a black dragons magic resistance ability does depend on what alignment you are facing. You would have a slight advantage over order and death and also Chaos in a way.

My fair opinion

I don't think that building the hydra's is an option..cauz everybody knows...BD has more speed..and all other stuff..though the hydras are effective fighting by their side with some Nightmares ..terrifing an all....their speed is also slow so they are a perfect match
Medusas is an default monster 4 me...allways...Very good defending troops...Killing machines against lvl4 creatures when standing on a castleTower HahA try defeat THEM

PEACE
