What HOMM5 needs to keep us involved.

First and formost, I havnt followed everythread, so I apologize if my ideas are re-disscussions.

To see a more sencable explanation, please continue down to the 4th post.

We all know the release of HOMM IV disturbed many Homm fans.
It became a disapointment for most of us and we put the gaming down
9except online because there is compitition which they have as motive9

So, I think 3do needs to do some rethinking. I'm sure the staff over the game writers know of our pain, and that there's a change required. I'll get down to it.

Add a new thing? Instead of the basic campains (which can still be available over senarios)
Have a True hero which we assume the roles of. WE are the hero. We pick the starting stats, special ability, and "starting" alignment.

Make the senarios more rewarding by rewarding the hero.
*head starts bangin'*

Its not HARD to do that!! Just another feature that would RESSURECT HOMM the video game. Do I have to say how it would work? NO!! The writers would know how to do it!
The algoritham..
Play as yourself, or guest?

Yourself-stats-pick senario-(Writers make new program here)
Select difficulty- (As example you lazy tards)
Quicky (no reward)
Slow progress
Up to my level
Kind of hard, stratagy makes me feel power
Extreme wipe out.- AI is after you!! >8D

The new program would give measure the characters ability (stats) and bring in the proper level.
Your rank goes up to Demi god

Hydra rider
blablabla
whatever ITS YOUR JOB!!

If you play as guest, you play like HOMM 3!!! You frickin' corpS!! Call the next game Heroes 4 more cuz were going into the game for real (and you ****ed us with crap designers)

I think it would be cool is to get every creature from heroes 2-4, & some new ones like CHimeras OO.
Combine them into all dif types of castles.
there may be more castles but I always liked upgrading every dwelling & choices of all dif castles & creatures.
I think it would be cool to make them fair castles in thier own way & make say 7-8 creatures in each one but with alot more castles then 8 to fit them all in lol.

All creatures from HMM 2-4? Still, I think it's impossible or will at least spoil the game. You ever played Age of Wonders 2? There are really many races/creatures there. But IMHO, many of them are too weird. I understand that in a fantasy world anything can happen, but what do you think about having an army of Fire Cats? (these are cats that throw firebolts ) Dunno about you, but I'd rather choose having a limited set of creatrues than facing so weird mutants (or maybe some nuclear explosions caused that mutation? )

Okay, I will rephrase myself.

It's simple. In all HOMMs there are senarios and campains. When you finish that-it's over. So all the work you did was for the one moment-winning. You can't keep going.

Well I say that is not good!
I say, why not add something new. The option to create a hero. You make it's starting stats, pick special skills ect..

After playing a new senario your skills keep going up, you keep artifacts (but have encumberance), ect.
The game writers make a program that changes map difficulty to your standard, and you can lower/raise the difficulty a little bit which in turn would affect the stat increase you take out after you play the game.
Your hero can still play campains.

Your rank moves up the more experience your hero gets,  which unlocks special parts of the game. Certain parts of the game could be unlocked for completeing campains, finishing a series of senarios, and getting more rank.

Rank would move up in corelation of EXP and or popularity.
The more you do, the more popular you become, and the more experienced you become, but you wont become popular if you keep doing easy things, over and over.

Some of the last things a hero can unlock in the game are the *last battles*, campains, or senarios which would be the end of the game.

I know this dosn't appeal much to those who play online (where a scence of competitiion gives us a reason to play) but for us who play alone this would make it more desireable.
(Bring back animated graphics too)

great idea!
but the designers at forgotten realms might start to complaign if h5 took too many of their ideas (like encumberence on a hero). Also, if you added too much role playing, players might start comparing h5 to balders gate and neverwinter nights, and i don't think a turn based game would come out the better of that comparison. just a thought.

Picture Homm 3. Only after the campain/senario you dont lose the hero

Encumberance- blehg.. Not nessesary aslong as the ability to trade is there. Just an extra detail.

I could go back and remember my sadness when losing Lord Dracos after beating the azure dragons (And Gelu ). It would be great to keep fighting with him as strong as he was. All the random monster stacks would be strong enough because a new program matches map strength to hero strength.

Of course with this idea, other things are available too think of, but arent nessesary.
The idea of more skill slots- or perhaps skill tree.
If Homm 4's idea was taken, a skill tree could be made after the 5 major skills are taken and improved to some extent.

How many more skills are there?
Mabey more spells instead? Instead of skills, new hero specialties.
Example to this for a *battle mage*

(Homm4 skills)

GM Combat-----combat skills like defence ranged attack
Ex Tactics----secondary tactic skills 12&3
M  Fire-------secondary fire skills 12&3
M  Order------order skills 123
M  Chaos------chaos skills 123
(That was Homm4s skill chart for the heroes)

Now, after this hero knows this combination of skills, I think it's rather implied more knowledge is available hence

New spells available

New specialties or skills available
There could be more here.

That is all addition to this concept. It would make gameplay more benificial, and interesting. It would give character development several different outcomes.

Well, a single player ranking system... I wouldn't mind. Could be quite neat as you log onto the game: Welcome Zergman compbane, lord of the multiverse etc etc.

Well, LS, thats atleast better than the way things are now..

You dont think creating a hero is a good idea??
Like Diablo2-- you make a hero, excell in skills, and stuff.

Like I said, after excelling, after beating certain senarious, it would open up more of a story line.. Same with campains.
Your hero would end up in the last campain if you played long enough, and are strong enough to go there..

A new campaign system would be nice...although..I would rather want it this way..:

Before I start the campaign I get to chose from lots of different stuff to make the campaign the way I want it....sort of like pizza and the ingredients of that

Example:
1)What's u're favourite town?
2)What's u're favourite hero?
3)What's u're favourite color?
4)What's u're favourite environment? (swamp, desert....etcetera...)
5)What's u're favourite food ...lol..

and all sorts of other questions

And after that...the game makes a campaign from some sort of template...like the RMG's in homm3...only extremely advanced...coz we want some storyline to right .....this will be my very own campaign..and I know that noone else have ever played anything like it before

Also..I'd like to see a completely new town system....:

For example...to be able to build buildings....u need workers....and to get those workers..u'll have to kill wandering creatures........coz every creature is keeping some workers in prisons.....all towns starts with one worker...and how many days it takes to build a building depends on how many workers u've got...for example....to build gorgon lair...u need 5 days with one worker..or one day with five........also..u can't build more than one building at a time with the same worker.....so maybe there could be an option to set some workers on one building...and others on another one...

So u can build more buildings at the same time...and even finish two buildings or something in one day

Also...spells should be harder to get...especially the powerful ones.....mage guilds only provide u with basic spells....and to get the powerful ones...u will have to find them on map.....and the spells found on map can't be teached away to other heroes.......so chose wisely what hero to learn spell with....and this also makes it more important to have several powerful heroes...

Skills system......should be simplier......more like the one in homm3......and also....each hero should have a speciality....to make heroes more interesting...there could also be other things special only to that single hero....like the specialities of the commanders on WOG.

Creatures.....there should be much more creatures than in homm 4........and every single creature should have a specialty that no other creature has....which also has a connection to what creature it is....like...monks...should be able to heal friendly units.....stuff like that..

Bah! Can't think of anything else.....
