This seems to be the oldest Biggest argument in Clan Wars.
Butit seems the latest way this is being dealt with is, if the game doesnt get played the BOTH get forfieted, no matter if one player was active and available to play.
So my question is this??? Is that fair? And any ideas of a way of determining who deserves a forfiet and who deserves a pass?
For example, make it so all players must send a mail tryng to set up time with opponent..and must also COPY that mail to BOTH CLan leaders. That way at end of war if there is ANY debate as to weather a player was available or made there attempt to contact the leaders can provide proof via a copy of e-mail. If a player made no such e-mail or the e-mail didnt make it thru then they are the player that gets the forfiet.
I just disagree with the whole philosphy of one guy forfieting and bringing other guy down with him... Especially when it is the deciding game in a clan war.
Please post some constructive thoughts and ideas here. No tossing please.

well yes jinx..copying email to leaders and notifying admin if cant find opponent is nice and responsible to do
BUT..
if none of two does it
its a double forefit

It's easy.. look at the real world, and copy it.
1. Set fixed times for the games before the tourney starts. Maybe not 1 because of time zones, but like.. 2 or 3 to chose from.
2. If you´re unable to play on those times, you lose on walkover.
thats how IRL tournaments work.. you dont show up? you lose

as ive replied to the emails about this...
Its up to the Clan Leaders (BOTH OF THEM) to email me their agreed upon solution. I waited 2 days past the deadline without hearing a peep. I get the feeling if I ignored that clan war a week I still wouldnt hear a thing. So sorry, if the leaders cannot raise a finger and take 5 minutes to do something about it, then they will expect me to make a decision based on what I see.
I prefer that the clan leaders make as many decisions about their wars as possible, and leave me only to updating. But by human nature, people are lazy.

It's always a shame when something like this happens. All of the hard work and effort that everyone else put into their clan games becomes null and void when it ends up being decided by forfeit.
So what can we do about it? I think the clan leaders and members have to take a good hard look at any members that are not playing their games, and like Ves said, clan leaders must be prepared to come up with a solution should 2 or more people be unable to play. I think we Myrmidons need to have a meeting and discuss General's situation.
General Jinxer, maybe you should start your own clan? You seem like you would be a good leader.  Hell, I know you would be a good leader.
The only other suggestion I can think of is having a rule where 2 (or X) forfeits in clans results in removing the player. That might work but it may also result in less clans.....
Valkyrica: Azuredragon's thread is kinda stupid considering he has won the Unholy Alliance 2 clan wars through forfeiting. In contrast; General's forfeiting has won one and lost one. Whose crime is worse?

Valk I am not sure what your talking about. I have not forfieted. In my game with SHK I e-mailed Ves directly and informed him that SHK and I had played 3 weeks in our game and that due to a family issue I couldnt finish before deadline, so I told VESUVIUS and SKH that I was CONCEEDING my war game. So there for SHK wins. Vesuvius took it upon himself to forfiet the war. So do not accuse me of playing the forfiet game.
Kracx sent me an e-mail claiming he hadnt heard from General and he COpyed it to Vesuvius. Evidentally that was not enuff of a PEEP to acknowledge that Kracx was arround and General was not.
If you Notice the history...This is 2nd time GENERAL has forfieted. SO it seems he has a history of not showing for games.
But no matter. Seems things are done. I think I might just remove myself from Clans altogether. My time is way to limited to waste it on technicalities.

The way I see it......
When I get an appointment for an interview for a job opportunity.........I make the necessary changes well in advance to make sure that I make it on time.
When I have a date with this very hot girl, you better believe that I'll make the effort to show up on time.
When I have to get up every weekday morning and get to work on time, you better believe that I'll be there one time.
When I lose a close friend, you better believe that i will be there at the funeral..etc
(you get my point)
The same thing goes for Clan Wars. You set up a time that both players agree on........then live by it. You don't show up, you lose. You can't make it: You better advise at least 48 hours before with the best excuse in the book.
Time zones are an other issue.

Time zones are rather a big issue. It's sometimes up to 8 hrs and nothing can be done about it in clan wars. Example: my last game with Slugger (good and honest player btw ), he was 6 hrs ahead of me and was the one who had to play nights, which may have helped me. Our game took like 3 week even though we both active players ,not Zud_kinda_active being on GS 24/7 =P, but enough to finish a game in time i think. I couldn't play some days he couldn't others. Things do happen in RL you know. We did make it on time, but i wasn't sure we would .So i talked to my clan leader about deadline extention. He sad that Ves doesn't do it anymore.
Is it really so, Ves ? I remember you saying that this could be done. Or was it just at the begining when clans weren't active enough ?
Anyway, i understand forefit/pass thing if someone doesn't play anymore. I do not however understand showing up on the last day and saying "ok, he didnt come, so give me pass." What if he couldn't play that one day, but was waiting for you other days ? Does it mean you're the one to pass ? I believe things like that already happened, didnt they ? But what if the game was started and both players willing to play just cant make it on time (almost came true in my case)? I vote for deadline extentions in such cases. At least IMHO it would eliminate some forefits. As for intentional forefiting, cant think of anything except maybe e-mailing every one and complaining to admins

Unfortunatelly, we had completely incompatible player schedules in the last clan war. Vesuvius gave us 2 more days, but that didn't help. Sometimes one player cannot play, sometimes another. In this case I would like to ask is it possible to start the same clan war right now instead of the forfeited one with the same settings but with players swapped?

uh-oh, myrmidons is changing ... atma is gone, jiels has taken over, huge improvement, general is leaving cause his cat is sick, karim is coming (can't tell anything about him yet, he wouldn't dance with me ...), japjer's fine, all the Myrmidons need to do now in order to win is kick the main losing man in the team, their leader, the Greek

I was expecting,from you all,a litle more respect to me.YES, i have some personal reasons and i cant play frequently.At least i have the guts to say it instead of continual forefeiting.And to your information i e-mailed Kracx.Unfortunately i saw that my e-mail was sent back.As for TC,it was a misunderstanding(TC i am trying to believe u)about the appointment for the game.
Sometimes you should better ask someone before jumping to conclusions.Besides many of you have forefeits.I never said anything for you.THIS is THE way an HONORABLE player does.
